Emotional Triggers

We talk about the emotional system instead of emotions, because when we talk about how we feel we are usually sharing stories.

By the time you are in the experience of an emotion, it is because the emotional system didn’t know what to do with the internal energy of what was happening.  There were signals before the flood of the emotional energy and we often go into our thoughts/stories, leaving the emotional energy behind.

See if you can have the experience of the emotional energy without going into your thoughts about what they mean.  Stay in the emotional energy space (feeling the sensation in your body) and don’t go into your mind or build up stories around it.
