Activate Your Superpowers

Hi Angela. Thank you so much for having me on your show. I really appreciate it.

Oh, thank you so much. It’s my honor. So Priya Bhandari was born in Punjab and raised in New Delhi, India. Life was normal and the old, the tragic murder of the father forced the family to relocate to the Punjab. Punjab, did I pronounce it correctly?

Yeah, it’s called Punjab actually.

Punjab, perfect, Punjab. Before finally, certainly in the United States, despite this tragedy, Priya went on to earn her Masters of Science and Environmental Engineering from the University of South Florida. She has since lived in five different states and pursued a quest of self-discovery. After years of success and failure, Priya decided it was time to heal herself. She took a leap of faith and began exploring her artistic side with interest. She’s now devoted to continuing this endeavor through painting, acting, and writing. Her motto is simple. Take life. As it comes, Priya has channeled the years of confusion, anger, and fear of losing people into strength. It is a point of pride. She has conquered her fear of being attacked by someone and now knows peace and the power of forgiveness.

So Priya, thank you so much for being here. Thank you for sharing your story. I want my listeners to know that I usually have like 10, 20 minutes of an interview with people just to kind of know what they are doing. But my first interview with Priya was almost an hour and she was telling me the tale, all her journey and how now she, as you learned before in her bio, she has been able to be reborn from grief. And I want you to start this interview, Priya telling us your healing superpower.

I would say the power I follow is my joy. And because whenever I feel stuck in life, I just want to do something which brings me fun, actually. So whether it could be talking to my friend or family member or any kind of like a fun activity going outside, or it could be indoor. So my next step after I feel stuck is definitely to follow my joy. So yes, to answer your question, what is my superpower.

And I love that because one of the big, big, big tools that we have when we really like a different kind of reality is being able to reconnect with joy to overcome grief. So thank you so much for reminding us because I do believe this is a super power that we can connect to us in awareness and consciousness. So Priya, I know that your story is long, I would like us to go to one of those moments in early years and one memorable life lesson that is useful for you today.

Memorable life lesson, that would be from my parents, actually, growing up. They taught me if you do something for someone in need, don’t even put too much stress about that. You did that favor to them because that energy is bad for us. You got my point, what I mean? Some people or even me, I used to use that I did that favor for you. So I’m going to expect something back. And my parents taught me actually in my childhood, you do with your heart and let the universe or higher power who you believe take care of that. Yeah. So I just practice while I’m doing this journey, the healing journey. So it’s wonderful.

And I think it makes a lot of sense because now I think that, of course, you’re going to tell us about this later on in an or interview, but through art, you’re giving yourself.

And when you just give to other expressions, your feelings, your emotions through art, you can expect something specifically back. You’re just doing it because that is a way for you to heal. And is your way of putting yourself out there and serving others in whatever situation they’re going through.

Yes, absolutely and I’m excited to learn about other people’s tools because for me it was always like following my joy and for others, it could be different things. So I’m learning a lot about this.

Oh, so I invite you to read, to listen to this podcast Priya, because as you know, at the beginning of the end of the interview, I always ask my guests, what are two tips or two suggestions that you have for people to be able to keep on walking this healing path? Not everybody has the financial support to find and pay for therapy or go to one of the programs my guests offer here. But if we start just with simple tips that we can implement, that helps us a lot.

So always a huge superpower, but for you and all my older listeners, please feel free to go back, read the titles, read a little bit about my guests. And if you feel that your heart jumps, that you resonate, then maybe could be some message for you. Go listen and share these other people. Because that’s the idea that as Priya said, we can keep on getting together. We keep on healing ourselves through the experiences of others with grief. Because for me that has been a huge tool. I have my own way of healing, but every time that I have these interviews, I learn something new. I learn something different. And when I implement things like, Oh, wow it’s all magic.

Definitely. I can understand that.

Yes. So, Priya, where can people go to find out more about you?

Actually right now, I only have my Instagram and Facebook account. But I’m working on building my own website. So maybe in a couple months it will be ready but for now my Instagram account is wateryblue04. So you can find me over there.

Could you say it again?

It’s wateryblue04.

Perfect, so people can take notes.

Yes.

Cool. Okay. So we’ve been talking with Priya Bhandari about healing after grief. When we come back from this short break, we’re going to talk more about her healing superpower and how this girl was able to overcome grief, stay tuned. We’ll be right back.
