Welcome, this is A Glimpse Inside. I’m Wendy Perrotti and today we’re starting a four-part series that is so near and dear to my heart. While I eventually got the hang of this thing that we’re going to talk about today, it did not, and let me repeat that, did not come easily to me. In fact, this particular growth was really hard. Today, we’re talking about how to be an amazing mom without losing your identity. Easier said than done, at least it was for me.
There were years when I truly felt that I didn’t have the time to shower. I gained a ton of weight, I really stopped doing anything that was just for me. The crazy thing is that I felt guilty almost all the time, especially if I tried to do something that was just for me, the guilt would pile up. Even though then, I think I would have said that I was perfectly happy, that I was choosing to give all of myself, that I was choosing to give it all to my kids, that I wanted to help my husband build his company, and maybe I was happy, maybe I did choose those things. In fact, I know that in part that that is true, but the way that I did it I completely lost myself.

By the time my oldest son was 10 years old, I was really at a personal crisis point. My guest today is someone that I wish I had known then. In fact, she is the reason that I have this podcast. I originally came to this network as a guest on her show. I have with me today the Super Power Expert‘s own SuperPower Mommas, Laura Greco. If you’re not already a SuperPower Mommas fan, you will be by the time today’s episode is over. My amazing friend Laura is the founder of the art of soulful parenting and a certified soul language practitioner. She knows that raising conscious children is both a real responsibility and a deeply fulfilling gift.

Laura believes that when a mom is happy, so is her whole family. Her work focuses on guiding mamas to live their own soulful missions as fully engaged, consciously connected, and spiritually aware women. Yeah. Right. She does this knowing that this is the way that we, women, are able to truly guide our children into their individual and unique journeys. So my friend, Laura, I am so excited to have you here.

Thank you so much, Wendy. I am so excited to be here with you. This is really exciting.

Right? We get to do it again. We’re only like flip flops on my show.

Yes. Yes. Very exciting. I’m always so excited to hear how your show is going and all the beautiful things that are being brought out through your coaching, others in their experiences. So, really great. Love it.

Yeah. We’re kind of grouping it here together today to talk about how to be a great parent and hold onto our own mission and purpose and identity. You specifically have some really cool stuff going on. You’ve been doing some new things. You’ve got a book, I think, in the works. Tell us what’s new, my friend.

Yeah. So, I did. I did start an outline for a book, and it’s very interesting what happens when you begin to put information together in that form, right? You start to reflect back on your life and your experiences as a mother and as going through your own healing journey, both physically and spiritually and mentally, right? We’re an entire package. We are not just one segment. Right? So, as I was going through this process, I began to, in reflection, realize that I had been quite a journey myself. Like you, as becoming a mom is a full dive in the endeavor, not to mention supporting others, husband, and other members of the family, so the tendency is to get lost in the mix. Right?

Right.

Right? I’ve always had an interest in life wellness. However, in many respects, I began to learn to care for myself in certain ways, but there was so much more because I had a lot to unpack from my years of growing up. So, in my reflections, I was realizing, “My gosh, self-understanding, awareness, compassion, the forgiveness of self and others all are wrapped up in my experience with soul language and what I offer to mothers today as they begin to make that journey of wanting to feel, to be tapped into their own knowingness and being able also to create that self-acceptance so they can move within the guidelines of really who they are and not what others expect of them or what they may be expecting of themselves through the lens of others.

Then of course I have also moved coaching with Super Power Expert. That platform is also where my podcast is. We are coaching visionaries and light workers assisting them to deepen their own practices and hone their own art. So, again, another place where I get to really enjoy the beauty of people who are expanding and I get to partake of that. So, all these things were coming together and then I was looking at my book outline and I was seeing something more.

I’m a podcaster. My audience gets to … and so do I get exposed to so many who are doing a similar work like you, Wendy. Really light bearers who are helping others to shine their light. Anyway, so that took me to realizing that there was a component that I wanted to really shore up and that was the physical part of things. So, I decided to … I’m actually getting my certification also in this area, but what I’m adding is the value of our whole life, right? Ourself, not just our-

Pieces.

Yeah. Not just start pieces, right? But, full life wellness is really about mind, body, and spirit all combined. We are a unit. We are an organism, and we are part of an organism of family and community and worldwide, universal wide, you know? So, how does that all fit together? Yeah. So, lots of stuff going on.

It’s so exciting. We have to take a break before we get into really all the things we have to tell you all about extreme self-care for moms, but before we take that break, Laura has something really exciting for you and for me. I can’t wait to get my hands on this. You’ve got sugar to cleanse.

I do. I do, “And why a sugar cleanse?” You might think after just hearing you talk, but a sugar cleanse actually is a way to tap in as the body gives you information. We are in 2020 looking at our immune system, right? And we’re looking at–

Right now quarantine.

Right? 2020 is the year of that. So, how can we assist ourselves? So, a sugar cleanse is a perfect way to, first of all, play with the idea of giving up sugar for a period of time, but also playing with the idea of what happens when sugar is primary in our diets and how that affects our energy level and our, perhaps our weight and our sleep and so forth. So, anyway, yes, you can get that at fulllifewellness.com.

And, it’s free, right? I’m not wrong about that, right?

It is free. It’s a 10 day cleanse with emails to walk you through the process. Yep.

Okay. So fulllifewellness.com and you get a prize of sugar to cleanse. It’s a gift from Laura to us. So exciting. Everybody stays with us. We will be right back and giving you some great tips about extreme self-care for moms. Stay with us.
