Do you believe that collaboration with others is essential for you to succeed? We often learn some of the most valuable lessons in life through our experiences in working with others. In this episode, Drew Berman joins ISP host Justin Recla to discuss the principles of collaboration and how they work. Drew is an international speaker, best-selling author, and executive trainer. He now brings the Law of Collaboration to the market through his app called “The Have It All.” Listen in as he and Justin talk about how collaborating with others will take you further in life than if you were to do things alone.
Hi everybody! This is Justin Recla of Incorporating Superpowers. And today my guest is Drew Berman. He is a lifetime entrepreneur. He’s been in business for the last 15 some odd years and he specializes in network marketing and assisting those that are on the network marketing with the fellow marketing path. Today we’re going to be talking about working in collaboration and I think that’s really cool because he owns the site, The Law of Collaboration. This is something that you’ve heard us talk about, is something that we firmly believe in. It’s the key to our success, is the working in collaboration with others and it’s also knowing what containers to set within the law of collaboration, how it works. So, please let me welcome my guest, Drew Berman. Drew, thank you so much for being on the show today.
Love being here Justin. I love the sense of calm I get by looking at your Buddha and your green. Good sense of taste. So, I’m happy to be here.
Good stuff. So, Drew talk a little bit, before the call, before the interview we were talking a little bit about just your background, you’ve been in MLM world for the last 15 some odd years, right? You worked in with Isagenix, you’ve done all sorts of different things and this is how you’ve made your living and now you’re assisting people who are wanting to break into that industry. And so, talk to me a little bit more about The Law of Collaboration.
Yeah, I’m thrilled too and I actually, it was born at an International Think Tank. You were actually there. It was very, very exciting. We were in a high level mastermind and we were working with extremely influential people and it was all about vision and passion and helping others. And the theme of the weekend was collaboration and everyone was talking about competition versus collaborating. How do we cooperate? And I had been in the profession of network marketing for my customer, 17 years. I’m 47 I never dabbled. Network marketing has always been my path. I never was skeptical. It was never a side gig for me. It became a business. And through it I had my first book come out, which is called, You Can Have It All, because I believe through collaboration and networking you can have it all. Not necessarily things, but all of life’s goodness, relationships, love, fun, fitness, adventure, all that stuff.
So, in the book I wrote that Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” I say, let’s be the change you want to see in the network marketing profession. I think the profession is a little broken and we’re trying to fix it. We’re trying to professionalize the professional that people can come in and join through collaboration. It’s really about serving the people that you have, coaching clients and we were talking before the interview, how you served them and what, how they have their breakthroughs. Well, you’re working, collaborating with them. So we came up with the law of collaboration. We own the domain, but it’s empty right now because right now we’re using an app technology. So I actually bought the domain, the Law of Collaboration. I trademarked it and we’re collaborating right now. What are we doing?
Yes, we’re doing an amazing podcast interview, but we’re collaborating. We’re taking your best ideas. My best ideas. So my newest book, I’m thrilled you’re one of the first to allow me to launch it to the public, but this is the Law of Collaboration. It is designed to break the shelf help because it’s thin on purpose. You could read the whole book in a 12 or 15 minutes and then it is designed to be given away to someone that you want to collaborate with. And we’ll give your listeners the opportunity to get one or some of these, but it says on the front wall of collaboration, read the book, get the app, join the movement. So when they get the book, they can go download the app. And there’s lots of different ways that we can connect and collaborate through this and through our conversation.

Yeah, I think this is an area where we’re able to say, we’re going to collaborate. They automatically think that you have to give up something, right? Or you’re going to lose something, right? Or somebody is going to take something for you. This is just human nature, folks. Collaboration is really beyond bigger than that. It’s about coming together with a purpose, right? That’s and bringing your energy and their energy and doing something bigger and that’s the whole purpose of this show and if you’ve been watching, listening to the show for a while now you will understand that everybody comes on the show. I’m not in business with, but they’re doing great stuff in the world and we are collaborating to promote them out to the network, out to the world, get them a bigger reach. That is collaboration because the people that hear Drew’s message that people that hear another guest’s message, it has an impact and that’s the power of collaboration.
It’s yes, you create a win-win, yes, you create these opportunities. I guess he was looking for exposure. We’re collaborating to do that. Done, right? That’s how it works. You don’t have to overthink it, but you do have, you will let go your ego and your, this is, the power collaboration is something that we’ve been immersed in for since we started business since we met you at CEO space as well. It’s what’s hard. It’s a better way of doing business. What are some of the biggest things that you see with your clients that keeps them resistant to opening up to the idea of collaboration?
Well, you said it was ego and where approximately same age give or take a couple of years. I grew up in the, around the 80s and that was a “Me” generation. How much money can I make? How many toys can I get? How big can my house be? And that’s an endless rabbit hole that goes nowhere. Through collaboration, I believe that if you throw, most people are stingy with their best ideas. Let me keep my best ideas to myself so I can get ahead. Well, what if you throw in your best ideas into the middle and I throw in my best ideas in the middle of it, all of a sudden we have some, a bigger pool of best ideas. And what’s happening with the internet. I mean, Google’s just one giant collaboration. You know, when you and I are growing up, if we wanted to collaborate with Einstein, we’d have to look in the encyclopedia Britannica.
Now. We could collaborate with Google and collaborate with Einstein and we could literally be by his side, he’s, we could literally transcend. I know you and your wife are into consciousness and being this and we could literally transcend time and exactly. We can collaborate and Yoda and Jesus and Einstein and Beethoven just because of Google and information is coming at us at a faster rate than ever before in the history of mankind. So we have access to the best of the best of the best in the world, existing and deceased right now at our fingertips. So, when you encompass the law of collaboration, you can actually grow bigger, better, faster.
Well, absolutely. And that’s the misnomer. I think that’s out there for a lot of people that are trying to get traction in any space. Whether it’s your own business, whether it’s a network marketing company, it doesn’t matter. It’s the notion that you have to do it by yourself. You don’t have to do it by yourself. It literally takes one other person and now the energy that exists between what you are carrying forward is now amplified and it’s not just amplified by one. It’s actually amplified by three because we have one person, you just have that one person, but when you have a second person, you have that person. When you come together you don’t just have two, you actually have three entities because you have this person, this person. Then you have the entity that exists in the middle between the two of them and it’s amplified the more people that you collaborate with. This is good stuff, Drew. Before we go on break, can you share with our listeners where they can go, get more information from you?
Absolutely. I used to give out my website. Now, then I used to give out a business card. Now I give out my digital card cause it’s easy. The letter E, the letter Z, easy card forward slash have it all, which is the name of my first book. If you go to EZcard.com, we will be connected. That’ll lock me into my phone, into social media and then we can collaborate.
Fantastic. And if you’re listening to this show and you haven’t been with us for a while, you’re going to click on the banners, go download the app so you can listen to the show on the app and have Drew’s information available to you in your palm of your hand. Stay with us, we’ll be right back.
