Hey everyone, this is your Super Power Kids, Neva Lee Recla. I am so excited for today’s interview, we’re going to be talking all about the power of starting business as a kid. Our guest today is named Aubrey Blue. She’s 11 years old, she loves singing and writing, and she wants to have a podcast one day. She is so awesome, I think she definitely understands the concept of aspiring to do these really big things at such a young age. She’s so awesome, so without further ado, will you help me welcome our guest Aubrey?

Hi! How are you?

I’m good. How are you?

I’m really good. I’m so excited for this conversation.

Okay. Well, I’m Aubrey, as she said. I really am interested in singing and writing. I wanted to start the podcast because I really thought if you could do it and can do it, then I can do it too.

And basically what it’s about is, it’s just about making people laugh. And I just like reacting to things and talking about what I like, what I don’t like and making people laugh.

Yeah, that’s so awesome. And I love that because one of my main missions is to inspire one million kids to do business and something I keep on telling people is if I can do this, so can you. Why would you put yourself in a position where you can’t do everything that you want to do? So I think it’s so awesome that you’ve had that mission.

Yes. But I have had people that are telling me that I would never be able to do something like that, but I don’t really follow the hate. I really just only listen to the people that are willing to support me and criticize me and tell me what I’m doing wrong and.

Exactly. And those are the best people to surround yourself with, anyways. Even if you’re not doing business or not doing a podcast or whatever, surround yourself with the people who support you anyways. So Aubrey, what are your superpowers?

Well, I’m really good at writing stories and I really do love. I like improv and when I have a dream, I act it out in the morning and I tell my sister all about it in a way, it’s super funny. And I love singing and I’d just love to get into a school so I can practice more and have opportunities.

That’s so awesome. And I love how you mentioned writing and singing because those are actually two of my main aspirations, when I’m not doing business. I love creative writing. Something I do sometimes is if something upsets me, I’ll go and write something about it. Something I’ll do is like, so what the world is going through right now, I’ll go and write something about it and it could turn into a creative story or whatever. And so that’s really cool. And I also like writing songs about those things. So I think it’s so cool that you like those things.

I have one quick question for you.

Absolutely.

Do you like changing your hair all the time? Because I just couldn’t help but notice that last time you had a side cut and I was like, mom, that’s so cool. I want that. And so I went and did one of those and then I got an undercut.

That’s so cool. Yeah. So I do love changing my hair a lot. I’m naturally a dirty blonde ever since I was young. I’m still young, ever since I was like a little kid, I would dye, shave, cut my hair. I had shaved sides, which is still a little bit shaved as you can see, but they’re getting longer. And I finally decided to do something natural besides blues pinks, purples, and I dyed it red. But yes, I do love changing my hair a lot.

Okay.

Yeah. That’s one of my ways of expressing myself is hair because you can do so much with it. And so the last time I had long hair, I think I was like six. So I love changing that and seeing what happens.

I’m really happy you said that because the way I express myself is I have this whole journal that I write songs into about, I don’t know, sometimes when I’m feeling sad, I’ll just write when I’m feeling sad and I’ll sing it and it kind of makes me feel better because I feel like I’m letting it out.

Yeah, exactly. I remember, before we get into the break, I remember, so I don’t know if you’ve heard of this book series, but it’s called Dork Diaries.

Oh my gosh.

Yeah. I have read each book in the entire series multiple, multiple times. And one time I decided I’m going to write a diary. So I became obsessed with my little diary, right. I had it, and it had cute designs on it. I think even on the inside, I wrote do not touch, all that stuff. And I literally got a tiny bag and carried it around with me. I never wrote in it when I was out, but I carried it around with me in case like something happened that I just had to write down.

Oh yeah. I have this diary that I got for my birthday and on the front it has top secret and it’s in blue and top secret is in bold print. And when you open it, you know those books that have those little lock. That’s what mine had. I write every day because, you know and stuff? That’s basically my life.

Exactly. And I think it’s a great way to, like you said, express yourself. And that just reminded me. I had one that I got for Christmas actually, and I accidentally broke the lock. And so breaking the lock by accident, accidentally broke the entire book. But I think back to your point is like, it’s a great way to express yourself and you can do that in business. My kind of advice before we go into the break is take what you love and take the way you express yourself and see how you can start transforming that into a business.

That’s great advice.

Thank you. Awesome. So we do have to get into a quick break, but Aubrey, where can people go to find out more about you?

Right. I have a Google Classroom called Aubrey’s Podcast. And there’s a code, you can write it down right now. It’s p2pbBx6.

Awesome. Make sure you write that down folks. And if you have to go back a couple of times, make sure you write it down and support Aubrey in her awesome mission. So we do have to get into a quick break, but we’ve been talking with Aubrey Blue, all about the power of starting business as a kid. And we’ll be right back after the break.
