Today, we’re talking about staying in meditation and we’re going to be talking today with Susan Shumsky about how do we take kind of the meditation, sort of prayer concept as this kind of acute momentary thing, but then allow it to inform us in our day-to-day existence, allow it to flow out into our beingness and are doingness, right, and inform that, that integrative process. So I’m really excited about jumping in. Again, we’re going to dive right into the conversations since you can hear all about Susan in those other episodes. Oh, beautiful. Well, we are always excited to have you here. We’re talking about this meditation concept because you have a book, Prosperity Meditations, that people can pre-order. Where can they pre-order it? Let’s just tell them now.

Brilliant, brilliant. So as we get talking as this is in resonance, make sure you go reserve your copy. The reason why I wanted to talk about this idea of staying in meditation is that I know a lot of you go in and out of this meditation kind of prayer practice, right? Kind of like new year’s resolutions. There’s the commitment and then, or maybe you’ve become very, very practiced at it and you’ve got your time in the morning where you start your day, but what is really calling out right now in our client base and in our ecosystems is the need to help enforce or reinforce the strengthening of the ability to take that movement and kind of bring it into your existence because the biggest kind of report back is right now is that I know all this stuff, but then I kind of come to and I’m like, “Ah, why am I all the way over here again?” Right? How is this happening?

So I think this idea of meditating, first and foremost, is important. Then we’re going to talk about how to integrate that. So first Susan, the concept of prosperity meditations is applying that meditation principle to a specific niche, but let’s first talk about why meditation. We hear a lot about it’s so great and it’s all these things, but with your experience with it, what is really happening in that process and why is it so incredibly valuable for us?

Susan Shumsky:

Well, I’ve been meditating since 1967. So it’s been quite a long time for me to have so much experience of meditation. I have found that meditation is the panacea of all ills. I found that it is the most remarkable, profound, miraculous process by which we can integrate our awareness any time we can choose to go into a meditative state and thereby release and relieve ourselves of all the stresses, the strains, the worries, anxieties, the fears. Everything that we have been subject to just melts away when we go into a deep meditative state. So meditation in and by itself is such a profound, amazing process that I recommended in every book that I write, basically.

Tonya Dawn Recla:

Beautiful. I love it. I love that you’re professing to the real sort of benefits, right? There are actualized benefits to doing this, things that it does have an impact on your day-to-day. I think that some of the challenges for people in this separation that we tend to do with the spiritual world and then the “real world”, right? We have our spiritual practices, but then we then turn and identify as human in the real world. So there’s this moving of those into closer alignment. I like what you’re saying about meditation and the consistency of that, right? Maybe it’s not a magic pill that you do once and it’s, “Oh yeah, I felt good. But then it didn’t really change anything.” Right?

There is some commitment in this process to actually doing the things that might result in something different. So with the Prosperity Meditations, talk to me a little bit about the concepts in there around why is it about prosperity and what is it about prosperity that would create something where people would have to meditate? Why do we have this kind of friction there? How does doing the Prosperity Meditations assist with that?

Susan Shumsky:

Well, meditation helps in every aspect of our life. The idea of Prosperity Meditation, like many of my books, is about a specific theme. For example, I did one called Third Eye Meditations and one called Earth Energy Meditations. Then these Prosperity Meditations. The idea of Prosperity Meditations is giving you very practical tips, practical methods that you can do to increase abundance in your life. Those methods specifically would be meditation, affirmation, prayer, and mantras. So the entire book is filled with the things I just mentioned. By using the methods, it’s a how-to, it’s a handbook, it’s a guidebook. It’s a way for you to actually have direct experience of increasing abundance in your life through using the methods in the book.

So for example, you would do a meditation, or you would say an affirmation to help you to increase your prosperity consciousness. Prosperity consciousness means the belief that you deserve to have everything and anything that you want, that there are no limits to your good, that you can create anything in your life through your thoughts, through your words, and through your deeds.
