Frank Romano is the author of the book called Love and Terror in The Middle East, fifth edition. He had a dream that told him to get out of the city and go into the Middle East and do something such as build bridges. Hello everyone. And welcome back to The Science Of Superpowers. I’m so delighted to have you here again and love the fact that you keep coming back to the network and sharing it, sharing it to those who are looking for a little bit more hope just to oomph right. Really truly in today’s episode today, I promise you, it will make you feel. It’s just remembering that we can have bigger conversations. I know so many of you are entrenched in big work in the world and many of you, you’re it for your world. I’m not impressed with much in the material world, but what incredibly impresses me are people who have the courage to step on their path and willingly keep stepping forward, even in the face of danger, even when it seems like it’s an opposition to their own apparent self-interest. That’s courage. And I know many of you are on similar paths. And I want you to hear today that you are not alone and we see you and we know you and we uplift you. And today find what you need out of this message.
Today we’re going to talk all about finding the courage to follow the vision. And we have with us today, Frank Romano, I could tell you a lot about Frank, mostly about the key pivotal. Here’s the door open or rise off of a book called Love and Terror in The Middle East, 5th Edition. Now, that’s just the tiny little crack that we just put in the window for you to glimpse inside because the book is the culmination of his deep work. And so that’s what I’m really excited to allow him to share here today and invite you to receive from this. So sit back, relax, and we’re going to bring Frank on. Well, thanks. I’m just honored to be here and to share with all those listeners and hopefully learn from all you folks out there.
Tonya Dawn Recla:
Beautiful. Beautiful. Well, we’re going to jump right in so they can get to know you a little bit better and ask, what are your superpowers and how are you using them for good?
Frank Romano:
Years ago, I had a dream and I was in a nice, comfortable situation studying the Sorbonne in Paris, philosophy. And I was disillusioned with big cities because I was raised in the country and worked on farms for years and so I had this dream. And through this dream it told me, get out of the city and go into the middle east and do something, build bridges, sort of what the dream was about. And it was so powerful that people were amazed that within a month I’d left this University and I was a waiter in a restaurant there in the Latin Quarter in Paris. I didn’t have money for a plane, but I took a trip down through Northern Africa and then got to Morocco. And I went into a mosque about Islam because I knew I was going to do interfaith work.
I didn’t know anything about it. It turned out, it was a fanatic type of a group and they held me captive. And during that captivity though, I was losing it. I’m becoming homeless, one of them. And I got strength from prayer when things were almost lost. And I was surrounded by people who were trying to… and there’s a lot of brainwashing going on and to make a long story short, it gave me the energy to resist and I was able to escape and that gave me also the energy to escape. And didn’t get to the holy land then, or return to Paris. That is chronicled in a different book called Stone Over Morocco. And that’s the precursor to all I do, including what happened in the Middle East with my activist work, which chronicled in Love an Terror in the Middle east.
But that energy that I received, I guess you could call some type of power that it was something telling me that I should open up my heart. And I know we all have our own path and I know we all have voices talking to us, we’re sensitive to it. And take the steps to follow that voice and even take the necessary risks, which spread over into the Middle East after that. That gave me a sense of purpose and also made me feel I’m connecting with the cosmic spirit and moving forward. And that also affected how I was healing before that, but it really made my healing more powerful. Something happened there where I connected. It came from that source.
Tonya Dawn Recla:
Beautiful, beautiful. That’s like such a mountain of information there. The depth of what you just skated over is really letting that sink in folks. It wasn’t just, “Oh, God called me to quit my job and open a healing practice.” I felt called to do what. That’s a remarkable story of faith. Did you hold it as faith at the time, the dream, the vision, at that time, what was your relationship with where that came from?
Frank Romano:
First of all, when I was disillusioned in Paris when we were going through periods of disillusionment, feeling lost, that’s the time when I sought answers to prayer through meditation. And when that came to me, it was such a powerful voice, I realized, even though objectively, my friends were saying, “What are you doing? You’re leaving this amazing school in the heart of Paris, the city of love. And you’re hitting the streets? Really you’re taking a train going down to North Africa? You’re going to hitchhike across, get to the holy land and leave their job.” But I said the message was so powerful. If we can listen to these messages, and often we shove them aside and it has a lot to do with our own path.
And everyone’s got an individual path and I encourage people to follow their path, not mine. Everyone’s got their own path to get into that light. And so that was the source. And it was just a clear voice, Tonya. What happens when you have a strong voice through a dream or through meditation? Well, how do you find out if it’s true? Well, you try to make it happen, try to live that. Otherwise, you’re always wondering if that was just another fantasy or something true to it. It turned out this, there was something true to this like a vision I received.
Tonya Dawn Recla:
What a beautiful way to describe it. Don’t take it at face value. Faith can be tested. It’s okay. I always say that, take your questions and your doubts and your frustrations to God. If that’s how you see it, take it into meditation, put it into action. Like you’re saying, take that step forward and make it prove itself to you. The act of faith is stepping into it. But it doesn’t mean that you’re blindly saying, I believe all of this is going to happen. You’re saying, I’m willing to see this through. And with no proof.
Frank Romano:
No proof.
Tonya Dawn Recla:
That’s faith. But I think that that was so powerful, what you just tapped into there. And if we can just anchor that in for everybody. Faith is not blindly following. I’ve often said it as I don’t trust because I know exactly how things are going to turn out. I trust because I trust. I trust how things are going to turn out. I don’t have to know every detail. In fact, I don’t want to. I get to delight in the unfoldment and I also trust in it. And so it’s a really unique way of looking at it, but it’s only unique because we’ve managed to warp it so much. It’s really fairly simple, folks.
Frank Romano:
Yes.
Tonya Dawn Recla:
It is very real. And what seems so incredibly not real anymore, is the alternative. It’s like, why would we have done it any differently? And Frank obviously just disclosed a whole lot of really delicious information that we can dive into when we come back from the break. And also my philosophy behind what I do. It’s not just activist work.

And then there is also Frank Romano’s “Storm Over Morocco”, which is about my initial inspiration when I went down to Morocco and I was held captive by that fanatic group and had to escape. But when I was so in disparity, when I was so desperate and just following these fanatics that I learned a lot through that calling, it was powerful, even though it looked like everything was lost and I was becoming one of them. So yeah, they could find it through these different websites. And just Google, Frank Romano Khan al-Ahmar or Palestine or Israel, and you can find information. And then hopefully through my website. People can feel free to contact me and they might not agree with some of the things I’ve said and done. I’m totally open to sharing with people.
