Escalation
Quickly following on the heels of separation is escalation. As individuals begin to wake up to the awareness that disparity exists and there’s a cost to everyone involved, real emotions move to the surface. For some, those emotions have been bottled up, waiting for the moment when others start to see. For some, this phase is an incredibly rude awakening that they find themselves ill-equipped to manage.Â
