Welcome back to you Incorporating SuperPowers. I am excited about today’s show because today, we’re going to be talking about getting in the green. What do I mean by green? I don’t just mean money. I mean the actual green. We’re talking about the leaf. We’re talking CBD. We’re talking oils. We’re talking all of it from an educational standpoint. My guest today is Kendra Losee. First off, she’s the CEO of Mota Marketing. She’s the digital marketer, who’s helping folks in the cannabis and CBD industries get more visibility, get out there and educate.

If you don’t know what CBD is, if you’re not familiar with cannabis, on understanding it and how you might be able to get involved in it. Not only as a consumer, but as somebody who might have business interest in this field. She also runs a Facebook show. It’s a cannabis marketing live show on Facebook. It’s “All Puff No Fluff.” This is one of my favorite topics. And Kendra, I’ve got to applaud you for being so vocal in this industry when for so long, it’s been so taboo. I applaud you and welcome you to the show, so thanks for joining me here.

Absolutely. Thanks for having me. I’m excited to talk to you more about this.

So, talk to me. Let’s just take a look behind the curtain here. Let’s start with the Facebook marketing show, “All Puff No Fluff.” Talk to me about what that is and why people should watch.

Absolutely. So cannabis marketing live, “All Puff No Fluff” is a show I started several years ago and I bring in guests who are both marketing experts, as well as experts in the cannabis or hemp CBD space to talk about their entrepreneurial journey and do marketing best practices. And really the point of that is to help educate people on how to do their marketing better to help others. Because a lot of people are used to talking about cannabis as a drug from years of the war on drugs and everything, all of the propaganda we’ve heard over the years, and really it can be used to help people heal and respond to the world around us, especially this past 2020.

There’s a lot of people that I think might be exploring the cannabis industry, just because of 2020, right?

Absolutely.

Just the anxiety and the stress that the year has brought. This is a conversation that I know makes a lot of people jittery. They’re obviously not users yet, and they’re nervous about what it is. What regulation is, and what I’ve found in the due diligence realm is that the people that get involved with the cannabis industry are the extreme risk takers, right? Because there is a lot of regulation, a lot of oversight, but what I love about what you’re doing is you’re helping educate people like, “It’s not that scary. It’s not that big and bad. If you just are educated, you can get involved.” So, talk to me a little bit more about what your mission is. What is the purpose behind what you do?

I’m going to tell a little story in the background. So when I first started my career, I was working with helping other companies learn to market, or do a better job marketing and using technology. So I ended up working for Budget Rent a Car and Tiffany’s. And after 9/11 and all of that, I got laid off and I decided that I needed to turn what I was doing and my focus, to make it more altruistic and helping others. So instead of helping Tiffany sell more diamonds, there’s nothing wrong with that, but I wanted to help others change their lives. So I ended up going into higher education, and through that higher education has its issues, right? But through that, I actually got to talk to people whose lives were changed by going back to school.

And who were able to be role models for their families. And taking that same thing through, when I started my own business, my first client was a cannabis client, and I had no idea. I was very straight and narrow in terms of anything I was doing. And so I went to a nurse who was certified and she helped me find things to help insomnia and just overall health. And understanding the importance of that education for myself and my own journey, helped me want to really dive in and keep going in this industry. Which yes, it’s filled with risk takers, but it’s also filled with amazing people who want to help others and use the plant.

So that’s my experience with the industry is that, yeah, it’s the risk takers, but they’re the risk takers because they know there’s a better way. They believe there’s a better way than the big pharma, right?

Absolutely.

That the taboo that’s come with cannabis, that there is a better way. That Mother Nature has provided everything that we need, and now it’s just about educating folks. And what I find is that anybody that gets involved in CBD or cannabis, there’s really an underlying. Yes, its risk takers, but it’s really what it is. For lack of better words, stick it to the man. Empower yourself. You can grow the shit in your backyard, right? And you don’t need to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars for things that don’t actually cure you, that don’t actually heal you. And that’s what I find as well. And this is going to be fun. We’re going to dive into this a little bit further on the back end of the conversation here, but where can people go to find out more information about you?

motamarketing.com, which is Spanish for marijuana, motamarketing.com and everywhere on social media at Mota Marketing.

Fantastic. Folks, if you are even vaguely interested in the CBD world or the cannabis world, and you want to know more about how you can get started, or if you’re in the cannabis or CBD industry, go check out Mota Marketing. She can assist you in getting your message out to the masses. We’re going to talk a little bit more about that on the back end right after this break. We’ll be back.
