Hello, everyone! Welcome back to The Apple Flavored Pomegranate. We’re so excited to have you here with us. Of course, I’m joined with Justin, my lovely hunka hunka burning love here. Hi, dear.
Justin Recla:
Howdy, howdy?
Tonya Dawn Recla:
Hello, hello. So for the conversation today, we’re going to start at the beginning. It’s called, “In the Beginning.” And the reason for it is so we tell people about this journey we’ve taken and we can talk about the show. And within our community, we’re doing our couple’s workshops and discussion groups and we’re having a lot of fun with it. But we find that sometimes when we say The Apple Flavored Pomegranate, we get this blank stare from people. The audible deer in the headlights if we’re on a call with them.
Justin Recla:
What does that mean?
Tonya Dawn Recla:
It’s like, “What, what, what?” And so we realized as we sat in these beautiful creative containers together. And we sort of opened the dialogue like, “How did we get here? Where did this all start?” And of course, it’s like, “Oh! In the beginning” So it’s a really great intro to this vision because the apple and the pomegranate and the whole concept, which initially was the outline for the book.
Which is… And the other lies we believe about our spouses, right? Because that really is the journey that we took with this and then it opened up many, many other layers. And I think it’s important that we go there. So real quick, let’s sort of plant this beautiful seed here of some of the dimensions that are wrapped up in this. If you could encapsulate all of the layers, just do a quick brush through. What would you say are all of the spaces that this one concept walked us through?
Justin Recla:
Oh my gosh! The multiverse.
Tonya Dawn Recla:
I totally just set him up on that one
Justin Recla:
The multiverse thing.
Tonya Dawn Recla:
It’s a lot.
Justin Recla:
It is. Because it’s not just about our relationship. We have to encompass the 1,3,7 principle into it. Because it’s you, it’s me, it’s our relationship, it’s your relationship with God, my relationship with God. Our relationship with God and so forth. It’s so in-depth. So this isn’t just your typical relationship show because this encompasses The Apple flavored Pomegranate. It encompasses your relationship with the divine, your relationship with yourself, your relationship with your kids, your relationship with your spouse. And all the multiple layers that exist within each one of those constructs.
And that’s been our walk. We’ve been peeling back layers for the last 15 years.
Tonya Dawn Recla:
Together.
Justin Recla:
Together to get to this. And The Apple Flavored Pomegranate is just a culmination of everything that we’ve learned in our own relationship. About ourselves, about the systems and processes that exist in the world. And our willingness to look at it from a different perspective knowing that, “You know what? Everything that we’re seeing out there and especially as it relates to relationships has gotten us to where we’re at and we can do better.”
Tonya Dawn Recla:
Yeah, I love that. Actually, you did a really fantastic job. Well done. You were absolutely the person for that job. So we’re going to dive into this. And just to tease you a little bit of course, it has to do with Adam and Eve. Of course, it has to do with sex and sensuality and all kinds
