The Skeptic Metaphysician
Who is the skeptic metaphysician? How can we open ourselves to the supernatural realm? In this episode of Incorporating Superpowers, host Justin Recla sits with guest Will Rodriguez to explore the metaphysical world. Will considers himself an actual day “Mulder” from the X-Files series. He is the host of the Skeptic Metaphysician and has been on a path of discovery in understanding and proving all things metaphysical. Tune in and discover the new concepts modalities of connecting with supernatural abilities and beyond.
Justin Recla:
Welcome back to Incorporating Superpowers. Today, we’re going to diverge just a little bit as we’re not so much going to be talking about business per se, but we’re going to be talking about just exploring the concepts of superpowers, exploring the concepts of what’s out there, and is it real, and does it work? And my guest today just happens to be the perfect guest for this conversation. He’s the host of The Skeptic Metaphysician. My guest today is Will Rodriguez, and he’s been on a journey to explore the supernatural. He considers himself the modern-day Mulder from X-Files, and I think he’s having a lot of fun exploring this and sharing his experiences and understanding of things with the world through his show. Will, welcome to the show today.
Will Rodriguez:
Thanks so much for having me on. I’m stoked to be here.
Justin Recla:
This is going to be fun. This is going to be a lot of fun. You and I have spoken briefly before in the past, and I think there’s a synergistic connection here, and I wanted to bring you on the show to explore what you do because I think it matters. I know it matters to the world to be able to hear everything that we call superpowers have been what we experience in the world and have others doing the same in different perspectives, in different lights, and looking at it from different angles. So talk to me a little bit about The Skeptic Metaphysician, and how did you got started?
Will Rodriguez:
Well, thanks first and foremost for having me on. I’m really excited to talk to you about the show and about everything else that comes up. The Skeptic Metaphysician is a passion project of mine. I’ve been on this journey of discovery pretty much my whole life. Most people had issues through COVID when we first started locking down. Mine was more of an existential breakdown, I guess, for lack of a better word. And it launched my exploration in earnest when I had to figure out what’s really out there.
I’ve always wanted to believe in the metaphysical, in the supernatural, the mystical, all that kind of stuff, but I’m really rooted in the scientific, so I need proof. I need physical, tangible, three-dimensional proof that I can touch, I can feel. I know it’s there. So the show is my attempt at coming at these modalities or exploring these metaphysical and spiritual modalities from a scientific mindset, not in the interest of debunking anything, but rather trying to help me find that proof that I have always needed that there’s something out there beyond the three-dimensional world. So that’s why I said I’m like Mulder because I really want to believe.
Justin Recla:
I love that. I think there’s a lot of people that are sitting in that space that want to believe, and they have that scientific mindset, and they’re wanting that. And then, I know that the gap is bridged in multiple different ways, depending on what you’re looking at and how you’re looking at it. So talk to me a little bit about what does that means for you? Where are you sitting in your belief of the metaphysical?
Will Rodriguez:
Well, so I guess, spoiler alert, I found it. I do know for a fact, a hundred percent, that it’s out there. I’m not a non-believer. I am a believer, always have been really. I just needed to prove it to myself. We’re about to publish the 34th episode, I believe it is. Over the course of the last 34 interviews, I have found that we’re all saying the same thing. We’re all talking the same thing. We’re all saying the same thing but in different languages. We’re using different words to say the same things. We’re all heading in the same direction. We’re just taking different paths to get there.
Where my mistake was in thinking, oh, well, if I do an astral project, I know it will be there, or if I have a lucid dream, I know it will be there. If I can see auras, I know it’ll be there. That’ll be a truth that I’m looking for when that’s not really the case. Okay, to cut it short, the answer, I found it through Reiki. I became a Reiki practitioner and that gave me the physical, tangible proof I was looking for that sure enough, there is something coming out of my hands now that wasn’t coming out of my hands before and that is fundamentally changing the molecular structure of water that I can actually taste. So I know it’s a fact.
So, now, it’s how you connect to so many things out there, right? I’ve talked to witches. I’ve talked to Buddhist monks. I’ve talked to people who do astral projection and lucid dreamers and Kundalini experts and all kinds of experts in every modality that you can imagine because it all seemed disconnected to me. So how do you connect it all? How’s it all working together? And that’s really where I’m at now is I’m trying to put the dots together to understand how it all gets put together with a scientific mindset. It’s not enough to know that it’s out there. I didn’t see how it connects, how it all makes sense together. And that’s still the part that’s somewhat eluding me, but that’s been the most fun because I’m finding all kinds of stuff out there that I wasn’t aware of that are just fascinating and mind-blowing. We just interviewed a guy that did Thai Buddhist magic. I never heard of that. And, wow, did he kind of blow my mind with his perceptions of reality.
Justin Recla:
I love the fact that I had the hit to have you on the show. It’s such affirmation for me to see others in that same journey because I’ve been right where you’re at. I’m right where you’re at. I’ve seen that and had that same experience and desire to know more. And I think your show is helping bridge the gap for those that are seeking and wanting a better, deeper understanding of how this all just fits together and bringing it from a little bit of that like you said, that Mulder perspective, that skeptic perspective, but like, “Okay, yeah. And what else?” Right? That’s more information. It’s absolutely amazing. Before we go on break, where can people go find your show and learn more about you?
Will Rodriguez:
The easiest place is to go to skepticmetaphysician.com. You can find the show there. You can find the videos there. You can find everything there. SkepticMetaphysician has got, we call it, a one-stop-shop for all things skeptic metaphysician.
Justin Recla:
Fantastic, folks. It’s a phenomenal, phenomenal podcast for you to take in conjunction. I think it’s a podcast that you’re going to be able to listen to and bounce back and forth between some of the stuff that you see on our networks and the guests that we have, the guests that Will has on his show, and start puzzling through that for yourself. Go take a look at Will’s podcast, The Skeptic Metaphysician. Stay tuned. We’ll be right back.
