What would it be like to embody the actual vibration of the true power of compassion?  In this episode of Wisdom of the Ages, host Ayn Cates Sullivan and guest Jonathon Goldman tap into the incredible possibilities that await us through the activation of our hearts.  A profound encounter with grounded, authentic vibrational reality, beyond ideology or religious ideas, led Jonathon to create the Chakra Map and Transformational Energy Healing, which he has now taught to hundreds of people since 2008 through the Essential Light Institute.  Join Ayn and Jonathon now to uncover the power of compassion.

I’m really excited to introduce my guest today, let me tell you a little bit about him. His name is Jonathan Goldman, he’s the developer of Transformational Energy Healing and the originator of the Shopper Map, a method of observing and understanding the human energy vehicle. So he began in 1976 by practicing acupuncture and he co-founded the Essential Light Institute in 2008. He’s written a wonderful new book entitled; Gift of the Body, a Multi-dimensional Guide to Energy Anatomy, Grounded Spirituality and Living Through The Heart.

Activate Your Superpowers

And I must say, I really enjoyed this material, it’s really groundbreaking. I’m about halfway through his 500-page masterpiece, and well, it’s the information we need at this moment. Before I introduce Jonathan, I actually wanted to read the point at the beginning of his book by John Godfrey Saxe. I’m assuming that’s how you pronounce his name,  who took an ancient parable from Hinduism and Buddhist texts and offered it to 19th-century readers. And the Wisdom of the Ages is contained within it and it goes like this:

“The blind men and the elephant. It was six men in the stand, learning to be very inclined, who went to skip the elephant, but all of them were blind so that each observation might satisfy his mind. The first approached the Elephant, and happened to fall Against his broad and sturdy side, at once began to bawl: God bless me! but the elephant is very like a wall!”

The second, feeling of the tusk, Cried, -“Ho! What have we here? So very round and smooth and sharp? To me ’tis mighty clear, This wonder of an Elephant. Is very like a spear!”

The third approached the animal and happened to take it. The squirming trunk within his hands, Thus boldly up and spake: “I see”, -quoth he- “the elephant is very like a snake!”

The fourth reached out an eager hand and felt about the knee. What most of this wondrous beast is like, is mighty plain, “-quoth he,- tis clear enough the elephant is very like a tree!”

The fifth, who chanced to touch the ear, said- “E’en the blindest man Can tell what this resembles most; Deny the fact who can, This marvel of an Elephant Is very like a fan!”

The sixth no sooner had begun About the beast to grope, Then, seizing on the swinging tail That fell within his scope, “I see,” -quoth he,- “the elephant is very like a rope!” And so these men of Indostan disputed loud and long, each in his own opinion, exceedingly stiff and strong, Though each was partly right, all were in the wrong! It was really pretty brilliant.

So I have to ask you, Jonathan, what part of the elephant have you found?

I was in a workshop recently, and I gave this long explanation of something that was of course brilliant. And at the end, my guide, who is actually conscious who is smarter than I came and he said to everybody through my mouth, he said, “well, he got it mostly, right?”

So that’s what I say, if you took the million smartest people that ever lived, take all that and all the information and all the brilliance, and you put it together in one package, we still would understand almost nothing. And so the best we can do is to connect vibrationally because vibrationally, we can connect with everything. We have a limited mind, a limited ability and so we create words and we create stories and we create explanations so that we can converse.

The problem is we get, we believe that that’s the truth. It’s not the truth. It’s an approximation of the truth, where truth lives in my experiences through the heart because the heart is vibrationally connected both to the reality of life on earth and also the transpersonal realms, the transpersonal realms in us, and also the transpersonal realms behind us. So by connecting vibrationally, we access it and then we give it words so that we can talk about it.

So I wanted to make that clear at the beginning that I have an angle, and I’ve been shown some things because I got shown them. But like everybody, everybody who really authentically makes contact with spirit is shown a piece of the puzzle, right apart from the elephant.

Yeah.

And the problem of course is then we get into, as they did, as they say, they disputed. You read it super beautifully. And then we start arguing about these, like how it really is now, how it really is, is that there is a vibration that we all share and we all can share. And then the conversations can be interesting, they don’t have to be disputed. Because we’re just trying to understand all of us, well, okay, well. Where have we woken up?

Right. Jonathan, how does compassion fit into this?

Compassion is a universal force. One of the distinctions I make, which I think is very important today, is discernment between empathy and compassion, right? So there are people today who are saying that many people have improved compassion fatigue. There’s no such thing as compassion fatigue.

Compassion fatigue is a misnomer, it’s empathy.

Fatigue.

Okay.

Compassion is a universal force, and compassion lives in a specific location in the heart chakra. It’s built-in to everyone. It gets activated these days, so for instance, in these days, right, this horrible thing happened in Atlanta. Many people, their hearts open in, in compassion for the suffering that has gone on there. Well, what if we don’t need to wait for tragedy? What if we don’t need to wait for tragedy? What if we can activate compassion by thought, by a breath.

And can enter into that vibrational space, that universal space, which connects us universally, and so we don’t get fatigued.

Right?

Yeah.

It’s like the sun feeds me, well, the sun doesn’t get fatigued, right? But what gets fatigued is my own lower self. So when I’m in empathy, I’m actually using my own energy to connect with another person and I’m becoming fatigued.

Right. Whereas if we connect to the divine light that can run through us and I guess like a tunnel in practice, we just come straight through and actually can have some impact. I need to take a quick ad break and I know people can come and work with you and they can check out your website. Do you want to share your website?

The website is essentiallight.org.

All right. Very good. Stay tuned. We’ll be right back.
