So my guest today is Brandon Beachum, author of the Golden Key Modern Alchemy to Unlock Infinite Abundance. I just listened to the audiobook. Totally loved it. I want to listen to it again. And the book also concludes with a rich you all action plan. That sounds really fun. I’m going to learn more about this, hopefully here. And looking at his website, oh my goodness. Hello. Hello. Thank you so much for having me.
Ayn Cates Sullivan:
This is so fun. I just love everything that you’re up to. How great is this?
Brandon Beachum:
Well, I think we are cut from a similar cloth, it seems. So you have no choice but to appreciate it. And I appreciate you appreciate it.
Ayn Cates Sullivan:
I love it. I love it. Okay. Well, we could go in many different directions. But what inspired you to write the Golden Key?
Brandon Beachum:
What inspires me? You know, it actually, I was inspired by a dream actually. So it’s a really fun story of how it came to be. And yeah, happy to share it. So I’ve always known that I would write. That was actually the first thing I wanted to be, my first childhood vision of what I would do is to be a writer.
And so I started, of course, down the path of talking about the ultimate nature of reality and spirituality on the podcast, at least in a public way for the first time. Before that, my friends and family’s ears would just bleed hearing me talk about it all the time.
And so I knew I would at one point write a book. I even started one just before the podcast which was in 2015, I started the Positive Head podcast.
And I ended up thinking I think maybe I’ll put this on the shelf for now and come back to it after I build a bit of an audience and get my voice out there. And yeah, so fast forward to what? A little over a year ago, August 2020, deep in the COVID Chrysalis as I like to call it.
And I had a dream about the book, The Golden Key, that the premise of it and the unique way that I wanted to get it out there and market it, allow people to receive the book, the audio, or e-book as long as someone else who’s appreciated it gifts it to them. And then on and on, it can kind of go and then share any abundance that’s generated as sort of walking the talk of what the book’s about.
And so I woke up with this idea and this concept and was really excited about it. And so I then went and started thinking, well, what would I call this? And then the name, The Golden Key came to mind. And I went and looked to see if anyone else had used that name. And I found about a hundred years ago, a guy named Emmett Fox wrote a famous, I guess, short pamphlet slash essay called The Golden Key.
And I got goosebumps from reading his description on Amazon. Because it’s like, “I dare you to try and see for yourself.” Read this and apply the ideas and see for yourself how they work in a very gamified fun way. In the same way, my dream idea had kind of shown me to distribute and market the book.
So I then went and talked to my friend who is a brilliant visionary artist. And he and I have a lot of synchronicity stories that have unfolded between us that I actually some of which I share in the book. And so I went to him and I was like, “Look, I’ve got this idea that came to me in a dream, it’s going to be called The Golden Key. I’d love for you to do the cover art. However, I know your artistic process can be very lengthy at times.” He does some very detailed work. And I’m trying to get this book out yesterday.
So I don’t know if it would align or not for you to be involved and help me with the cover art, but I just thought I would share my vision and what the dream was all about and see if you would want to help me with the art.
And after I gave him my whole spiel, he then said, “Well now are you ready to hear about my dream?” He’s like, A few months ago, I was at. I run a co-living space in Los Angeles called the Mystic Manor. And he was like, “In my dream a few months ago, I was at the Mystic Manner. And I was hunting for the key to everything.”
Ayn Cates Sullivan:
Oh, wow. That’s amazing.
Brandon Beachum:
He literally pulled out his dream journal. And he read the whole thing to me. And he’s very poetic. So he read this very poetic dream journal entry for months prior. And he said, “So to answer your question, would I help you with the cover art for your book? I was so inspired by the dream I had hunting for the key to everything at your property months ago, it’s already been started. Here’s the first work in progress.”
Ayn Cates Sullivan:
I love it.
Brandon Beachum:
He gave me this magical key that he’s drawn and he started working on it. So yeah, that’s the very long-winded answer to how did the book concept come into
Ayn Cates Sullivan:
I love it. And I love this shared dreaming. We do, more often than we realize, we do these shared dreams.
