Can we find healing through love? Is love the antidote we need to free ourselves from all the sufferings, fears, and worries of life? In this episode of Wisdom of Ages, host Ayn Cates Sullivan and guest Dr. Erica Goodstone talk about the principle and purpose of love in the universe. Dr. Erica is a licensed mental health counselor, marriage therapist, sex therapist, and coach that has written over 20 books. She specializes in healing through love and teaches the science of well-being. Additionally, Ayn amplifies how dogs value and uphold the genuine concept of love. Indeed, it is visible every time they are excited to greet a family member coming home, wagging their tails and kissing them with so much love and happiness. Join Ayn and Erica as they tackle more about what healing can love to give not only for others but for yourself.

In the world we’re living in, healing through love is becoming increasingly important. It’s imperative to keep in touch with people we love and connect to those who uplift and inspire us. As Dr. Erica Goodstone writes, “What can be more important in this life than love, loving ourselves, loving our intimate partner, loving our family, loving our neighbors, loving our coworkers, loving the people we meet day by day? What a wonderful world it would be if we could live in a state of perpetual love.” I agree.
Before I introduce my guest, I just wanted to tell you a story about a dog trainer who came to our house. We have German Shepherds, and one day we were out working with them in the backyard. And my husband came home, and the dogs just ran to see him with their tails wagging, and they wanted to kiss him. It was just that they were so excited to see him. And the trainer turned to me and said something I’ll never forget. Just really touched my heart. He said, “When your family members come home, come in and greet them with love and happiness, just like your dogs, because you never know how long we have with them. And each moment is precious.” So that really stayed with me. Our dogs really understand healing through love.
Let me tell you about my guest today. Dr. Erica Goodstone is a licensed mental health counselor and marriage therapist, sex therapist, and coach, who has written over 20 books. It’s quite impressive. Her specialty is healing through love. She assists men and women, individuals, and couples, gays, and heterosexuals. And she also teaches the science of being well, which we know in this era that we’re living in right now is really important. Let’s create an awakened love, passion for life, intimate connections. That’s what we’re going to get into today. I hope you’ll come and join in. We’ll be speaking about her books, videos, virtual summits, and mostly how we can heal through love. So welcome Dr. Erica Goodstone.
I’m delighted to be here and speak with you.
It’s really nice to speak with you, too. I have one question before we take an ad break. Can we actually heal through love?
Absolutely. And I want to just say there is a principle of love in the universe in full operation at every moment. And this permeates and penetrates and fills all the cells in our bodies. And it’s the most important thing there is, but we don’t study it much. We don’t take it seriously. So my question to you is, at the moment, can you think, “What would love to do now, and not just for the other person, but for myself?” But every moment thinking about what would it do now?
Okay, I’m going to ponder, “What would love to do now,” as we take this ad break. And I know people can go on and check you out on drericagoodstone.com. Stay tuned. We’ll be right back and we will dive into healing through love. Stay tuned. We’ll be right back.
