So before I introduce my guest, I just want to mention that years ago, I visited a very sacred place called Glastonbury, and it’s in the southwestern corner of England. And some people say for 25,000 years if that’s a thing, 25,000 years people have been going to this sacred place. Anyway, there’s something definitely magical about the landscape. And when I went, this was about 35 years ago, I think, I fell absolutely in love with the Ladies of the Lake, particularly Nimue and Morgan. Now, Morgan was a character who scared me originally. She was the evil sister. Hollywood portrays her as this evil sister, and actually in a lot of Christianized versions of the myth. But then there’s also the fairy grail. There are more ancient Welsh versions of the tale where, actually, Morgan is a healer.

So I was so happy to discover that there’s a wonderful woman named Carolyn Weakland, who has really given Morgan a new voice. I’m actually halfway through the audiobook right now. I wanted to finish it before we did this. But halfway through, I in love with her. And not only does Carol write the books, but she is also an actress, too, and so we get the transmission when we listen to her audiobook, so I really loved that. So Morgan has come to life to me in a completely new way. So we want to talk about her book series, Morgan of Avalon. I’m on Dreamspell. There are three in the series, and also, maybe some of her fairytales. So welcome Carolyn Weakland.

Hello, and it’s Carol Weakland.

Oh, Carol. Yeah.

That’s okay. A lot of people do that. But I’m so happy to be here. Thank you so much, Ayn.

I’m so happy you’re on, too. Now, I know one thing that can happen when two ladies who really love the ladies of Avalon get together and start talking is that the wavelength can get a little strange sometimes in the recording. So I’m just going to let the listeners know that sometimes you might hear waves or something magical.

Yes.

And bizarre. It happens, it happens.

It does. Thank you.

Yeah. I think I want to ask you, I’d have to take an ad break, at five minutes. So just quickly, I have a question for you.

Yes.

Are fairies real?

Yes, they are. 100% real. And they are not what we think of. Most people think, “Oh, Tinkerbell, are you serious? How could there be someone like Tinkerbell?” Fairies are nature spirits. They’re literally divine energy beings sent by the divine to act as a guardian to an animal, plant, flower, rock, tree, any aspect of nature. And they’re here by that means. They’re not here to be fooling around and tricking people. They are truly guardians. Just like we have a guardian angel, for example, every animal has two guardian fairies that look after it.

And they’re just beautiful beings. Yes, I know. So sweet.

I think it’s really important that we remember how to work with the elementals and also how to work with the fairy realm. Anyway, I have to take this quick ad break. But when we come back, we’re going to continue to speak about everything magical, about fairies, about Morgan le Fay and Morgan, the sea goddess. Stay tuned, we’ll be right back.
