Fighting for Inclusion

What is the importance of fighting for inclusion? In this episode of Leave it to Neva, host Neva Lee Recla is joined by empowering leader and guest, JWoW. The two talk about how we can change the world in so many ways. Whether you’re marching the streets or sitting at home, it is the fact that people are willing to fight for change that matters. A big part of inclusion is having the empathy to empower others. As Neva says, “In order to understand empathy, sometimes people say we need to “walk a mile in their shoes” but sometimes others’ shoes won’t fit your feet and that’s okay.” There are so many ways we can change the world, and each way is so important. Tune in now to learn more about the importance of fighting for inclusion!

Neva Lee Recla:

Hello, everybody. Welcome back to The Leave it to Neva Show. This is your host, Neva Lee Recla. I am so excited about today’s interview. We’re going to be talking all about fighting for inclusion. This is something I am so extremely passionate about because I think honestly, what I’m saying in the world right now is people getting an opportunity to just gain more love in their hearts for people. And sometimes it can be scary to have love in your heart for someone or something that you don’t fully comprehend. And the person I have with me today is somebody who boldly stages, just asks questions, and doesn’t be afraid to jump into the deep end of these conversations, because honestly, we’re not going to be able to change the world if we aren’t willing to have these conversations.

My guest today is JWoW and oh my gosh, they’re literally like a grown-up version of me. JWoW, you are so amazing. The work that you’ve done in the world, you are literally the type of activist who has made the work that I do in the world possible. And you are just absolutely amazing. And I cannot wait to have this discussion y’all. She is so amazing. So strap in, this is going to be a wild ride, and let’s jump right into it. JWoW, welcome to the show.

JWoW:

Okay. Y’all can’t see me on the podcast. I’ve been back here doing some straight-up MC Hammer dancing. Okay, no Neva. I’m back here dancing my ass off, so happy. I’m not supposed to say that.

Neva Lee Recla:

It’s okay. I’ll mark it as explicit. You’re good.

JWoW:

Okay, great. This is great.

Neva Lee Recla:

Well, I’m really excited to jump into this conversation. Actually, let’s do this. Are you okay if we go into the break first and then jump into the conversation so we can talk?

JWoW:

I have 1530 that I need to go to.

Neva Lee Recla:

Great.

JWoW:

Perfect.

Neva Lee Recla:

We’re good. Before we go into a break, JWoW, where can people go to find out more about you?

JWoW:

Okay. You have caught me at a time when we are just getting all that change, so they can go to planetjwow.com. And they can find that if you go to the about page, you’ll find out about me and some of the people who are on the planet with me. And then if you get in touch with me, because I’ve actually got somebody working on this site, I will send you information about me because I have some very specific desires about how I want to get the kind of message that you are talking about Neva out into the world, my version of it. You look like hope to me. You look like hope realized to me. One of the greatest honors and compliments I’ve ever gotten and I am going to gloat about it for the rest of my life.

You said that I am like an older version of you. I think that you are one of the biggest badasses in my life and you have been since you were seven. I get to be the older version of one of my own heroes. I get to be the older version of one of my heroes, y’all can’t touch me today.

Neva Lee Recla:
