We’re just getting started here after wrapping up a phenomenal holiday season and kicking off 2023 in a unique fashion. And if you’re like me, you’re probably going God is this year going to be any different than last year one could hope, right? We’re gonna hope especially, one can hope that prior the prior two years during COVID, especially during COVID. The transitions and changes that everybody had to go through during that part were enormous. And you’re all in for a treat. Because my guest today, Alexandra Nolan is an influencer and an author who has written a book called The Unconventional Entrepreneur. We’re here to talk about some of the changes that have come about not only just because of COVID, but just because of the technology that’s advanced for it and so many other things, the consciousness that’s advanced for it, and so many other things that have brought us to where we are today and how business is getting done in the direction that we’re all going not only as businesses but as entrepreneurs in society in general. Alexandra Nolan:

Thank you for having me.

Justin Recla:

This is good stuff. Now. You’ve you you’ve done a thing or two, you’ve gotten to college, you’ve written this awesome book, and you’ve now stepped into this influencer role. Because your blog is just taken off and you’re doing absolutely some phenomenal stuff in the world and I love what we’re talking about prior to the show with your book, The Unconventional Entrepreneur. Can you share a little bit about what we were talking about?

Alexandra Nolan:

So, you know, I know, Everyone’s tired of hearing about COVID. But it did some pretty incredible things to the business landscape. So, you know, there’s this evolution of the entrepreneur and business practices in general. And it’s been happening over time as evolution does, as things evolve. And, you know, all of these traditional business practices that were taught in college, you know, while they’re effective, this, this evolving of our business landscape is really, you know, these practices are effective, the traditional practices are effective, but this evolving is really reshaping strategies and things that can really fast track you. And so I wrote this book because we see through COVID, obviously, a lot of people were unfortunately furloughed, a lot of people were, you know, laid off, and all of that, they’re creating all of these ways to make money fast.

And also the audience is right in front of a computer. So these ways to make money are being created digitally. And it really changed our entire landscape of business. And so I wrote this book to talk about that fast track evolution and ways to do business, unconventionally and innovative ways and really to reach success to newer heights.

Justin Recla:

I think you’re definitely onto something now that I mean, I know that we’ve experienced that within our own business, you know, COVID, brought about a whole lot of, oh, goodness, goodness, pivot type moments for a lot of business, our business was very well positioned. Because we were already digital. Were already online. We were already working with remote teams and so forth. And what it did for us was it showed us that there were even better ways of playing in the digital space because of some of the solutions that came about during COVID. And I think you’re, you’re spot on that the evolution of the entrepreneur was sparked by

Alexandra Nolan:

Absolutely, I was very lucky. I originally didn’t aspire to be an influencer. I had several brick-and-mortar stores. Actually, I sold them in October 2019. So right before COVID hit, I’m happy to say that the person that purchased that bought my stores, rode the wave they made it through COVID. The store brand is still alive today. So that makes me very happy. But I had as I had my stores I had no money to market so because I recognize that, you know, digital is the way to go when you want to market for a low cost. I created a blog mainly to sell Well clothing through, you know, for my stores, and it evolved over time, after 12 years into this big lifestyle brand. So I made that jump during COVID, two and went full-blown digital with my business. So yeah, I’ve seen the changes happening over the last two years and have really been able to take the time to capitalize on them.

Justin Recla:

This is fantastic. And I want to on the backside of the break here in just a second, I want to talk more about some of the things that you’re seeing that you’ve experienced in the people that you’ve worked with the customers that you’ve worked with the clients that you’ve worked with, and what the things that you talk about in your book about what entrepreneurs should be looking at in order to be able to pivot in this unconventional way to go about going to business. But before we get into that, where can people go find more information about you?

Alexandra Nolan:

So I do as I said, I’m an influencer. And I add my main platform is Instagram. So my Instagram is @alexandra.nicole. And also my websites are citychicliving.com. That’s the blog and I have a base website with more information alexandranicolenolan.com.

Justin Recla:

Fantastic, folks, go take a look at what Alexandra is up to take a look in her book, the state with this, we’re going to talk about more of what’s inside the book, right after the break, we’ll be right back.
