Making Breathwork

How can breathwork impact our daily lives? In this episode of Incorporating Superpowers, host Justin Recla welcomes guest Adrienne Rivera. Adrienne is a Spiritual and Business coach who takes her clients on trips to Peru and into the wilderness of Colorado to experience connecting with breath as a practice to center, ground, and release stress. Their conversation revolved around the importance of connecting with nature and exploring simple steps to making breathwork in our daily lives. Tune in to know more about how making breathwork as a meditation, affects a person’s mental, emotional or physical state.

Justin Recla:

Welcome back to Incorporating Superpowers. My guest today is Adrienne Rivera. She is doing some really good stuff for the world. I love the conversation because she is a breathwork specialist, she is in the spiritual and business space. So there’s a lot of crossover in the work that we do in the world. It looks love how the universe puts people on your path to show you the reflection of the work that you’re doing in the world. Adrienne, you are one of those reflections. And I look forward to this conversation today. Thank you so much for being here.

Adrienne Rivera:

Yes, thank you so much for having me. I’m excited to be here.

Justin Recla:

This is good stuff. Now, let’s take a look at your site. I saw the energies of what I recognized as the donor, but you said it was Colorado Springs. It’s absolutely if you’ve never been to Colorado Springs, if you haven’t been to Sedona, then go it’s definitely worth finding yourself out in the wilderness there. And I’m just gonna start off started off by asking Adrienne, what are your superpowers?

Activate Your Superpowers

Adrienne Rivera:

Yeah, my superpowers are facilitation, leading breathwork my energy, my vitality, really using my intuition to really follow the moment, the energy of the moment, and trust that whatever needs to come through will come through. I do that through speaking, I do that through channeling when I facilitate breathwork, channeling and moving around different exercises when I lead retreats, really just following the flow, it always works out and reading the energy of the room and, going from there.

Justin Recla:

Fantastic. So you said breathwork. I know you’ve got a breathwork certification that you do. Take people on a retreat in Peru. I think you said you have one in December this year. We may be having some additional conversations between here in December, you and I, because Peru’s definitely been on my bucket list. It’s been on our family’s bucket list for some time. So we may be having additional conversations. If anything, I now have personal contact with who to go to when we’re ready to go to Peru. So but I want to talk about breathwork. Why breathwork? What drew you to that?

Adrienne Rivera:

Yeah, so like all good things. Do I believe that good things find us when we’re ready? So I wasn’t even looking for breathwork. It wasn’t like I heard it was the latest trend. In fact, I never heard of it, or stumbled across a workshop that I didn’t even know was going to be centered around breathwork. It was an event called Spirit Fest. I remember thinking that sounds cool. I want to go to that. So I went and it was all breathwork. That first session immediately got me hooked. I was like, what is this? There’s so much energy here. I feel so alive. I felt so much pleasure in every single cell of my body. So I wanted more. I’m like, how is it that I’m like not taking any substance and I’m feeling so much in my body? This is amazing. So I kept going back, I tried to find all the breathwork classes that I could find locally where I was living in Steamboat Springs, Colorado at the time. I’m in Reno, Nevada now. There I found like 10 different classes within the span of a couple of months. All of the sessions were wildly different. Some of them processed deep grief and cried for two hours straight, which I had never allowed myself the space to do.

Other times I felt old injuries, having new oxygenated blood flow like healing them, I could feel the healing that was happening. It was wild to me. Other times I had ideas, like creative ideas that would come through which is mainly how I use breathwork now for creative business ideas, which is so fun, so powerful, really awesome to just surrender to see okay, what’s within me that is so exciting, that wants to be birthed through me. That’s actually how I birthed the Peru retreat. I almost wasn’t going to do it. Then I did a breathwork journey to get clarity and it was like every cell of my body is like this is it, you get to do this. It’s not about how many people sign up. It’s not about how it looks. It’s definitely not about the money. It’s about the mission and really bringing people into nature so that they can experience the most abundant place in the world. I believe it is the Amazon rainforest, do breathwork there with other leaders, go away from technology, and go within just like you were saying Colorado Springs is amazing nature and the Amazon is even more powerful. So I love nature, and nature breathwork fitness, like those, is the modalities that I really believe have supported me and realizing that there is so much more to life than what people usually focus on.

Justin Recla:

I absolutely love this and when we get back from the break, I want you to dive into this more, especially in the business realm of what people can be doing right now if they don’t have the opportunity to get out in nature to be drawing in energies from our environments after the break, but before we go on break, where can people go find more information about you?

Adrienne Rivera:

Yes, they can go to breathofgold.com. And there they can find out about breathwork certification, breathwork membership, and the Peru retreat

Justin Recla:

And that’s folks, go take a look at Adrienne’s site, and see what she’s up to, especially if you’re interested in that Peru trip. Stay with us. We’ll be right back.
