Tune in to today’s episode to learn more about how meditation can change your life.

Blessings, soul family. This is Jewels with Cosmic Consciousness, Reprogramming the New Human for the New Earth. I am so excited about our guest today. We have Ariel Garten. She is probably one of the most interesting people you will meet. She is a Neuroscientist, a mom, Former Psychotherapist, Former Fashion Designer, and the Co-founder and visionary of the amazing, highly successful Tech Startup, Muse. Muse tracks your brain during meditation to give you real-time feedback on your meditation, guiding you into the zone and solving the problem most of us have when starting a meditation practice. Muse lets you know when you are doing it right.

Ariel’s mission in life is to help people understand how their brain and mind work, both the nuts and bolts and the neurons, and how that plays out in the messy and beautiful human experience of living. She inspires people to understand that they accomplish anything they want by understanding what actually goes on in their mind. Welcome to the show. I’m so happy to have you here.

It is such a joy and a pleasure to be here. Hello, hello, hello.

Beautiful. So we’re going to talk today a little bit about how meditation can improve our lives and how we can use it to really create, maybe a better life is a way of saying it, that really becoming the creator by using our minds. So I’m going to start right there. Tell us a little bit about what Muse does for us in meditation and how we can reflect that into creating a better life.

Amazing. So I imagine everybody who’s listening has a reasonable understanding of meditating. I’m actually going to start again, because I don’t want to presume anything about your audience. So thank you, editor. I’m just going to start from ground zero.

So thank you, that’s an awesome question. So we all know that meditation is good for us, but meditation can be really hard to do. Most people have misconceptions about meditation. You sit there, and you think your mind is supposed to go blank, but there’s no little guru sitting inside your brain, showing you what your mind is doing and what’s supposed to happen.

So what Muse does is it makes the internal process of meditation visible and audible. It gives you real-time feedback on your brain during meditation, to let you know when your mind is wandering and off in thought, and when you are in the state of focused attention, when you’re in focused attention meditation. So what that allows you to do is to actually effectively either start or enhance your meditation practice, and what that can allow you to do is to fundamentally understand who we are, what drives us, and how you can change it or accept it, whichever you choose.

So beautiful. I think that such a big part of starting to create new realities is by just being aware of what our thoughts are. Because so many times, we go throughout our day and don’t even stop to think about what it is we’re, quote, unquote, “thinking”. So I love that this gives you that time. So how long do you suggest people start out when they are using the Muse?

So if you are a novice meditator, you can be using Muse for as long or as little as you want. People typically start at about five minutes, so you start and you do a five-minute focused attention practice.

Optimize Your Life!

What muse is, it’s a EEG sensor, so it’s actually tracking your brainwave activity and giving you real-time feedback to know when you’re focused and when your mind is wandering. It also has sensors for the heart, the breath, and the body.

So you can start by doing a five-minute mind meditation. We also have meditations that actually let you hear the sound of your heart, like the beating of a drum, let you actually hear as your body is moving, and help you track your breath for breathing exercises. So you can start with one meditation that’s five minutes, or you can do as many as you like of the different kinds of exercises. We have expert meditators that use Muse that will set a three hour long session and use Muse alongside their regular practices.

So beautiful. If somebody was interested in getting a Muse or finding out more about it, where would they go, Ariel?

You can actually check it out at choosemuse.com/welcome.

Amazing. So we’re going to take a really quick break, and when we come back, I want to go into more of the science behind the brain and how we can use the Muse or meditation to start reflecting higher frequency realities. We’ll be right back.
