Gospel Glass Inspiration

What is a gospel glass inspiration? In this episode of Wisdom of Ages, host Ayn Cates Sullivan welcomes guest Laura Ann Cohn to discuss her journey as an artist. Her art revolves around abstract painting that centers on birds as a subject. Their conversation also tackles the importance of acknowledging that we are all broken; however, we can be whole again through God. Tune in to more about the gospel glass inspiration and how a piece of art solely made just for you can help you through healing.

Ayn Cates Sullivan:

Welcome and blessings. This is Ayn Cate Sullivan, host of Wisdom of the Ages: Sacred into Modern-Day Reality. And the sacred can take many forms, including glass. In my mind, writers and artists, when they are attuned, can align directly with the divine. I think of this as a kind of co-creation.

My guest today is Laura Ann Cohn, who has been creating some very special and unique pieces of art. She calls it Gospel Glass and she has created a Christian ministry around it, so she shares her awakening with her artwork. We’re going to find out more about that. She has shown me a few pieces, and they’re beautiful birds. What I’ve seen are beautiful birds that are shattered glass that has been put back together in a new way, rather like us when we find our spiritual path.

Let me tell you a little bit about Laura Ann Cohn. She’s a fine artist living in Central Texas. She is also a Jewish believer in Jesus Christ, which is an interesting paradox. We’ll find out more about that. With Gospel Glass, Laura hopes to inspire people to seek a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. If you want to visit Laura’s artwork, visit her Instagram account, which is Gospel Glass. You can find her artwork there and also some inspiring Christian quotations.

Looking at her birds, I’m reminded of my children’s book I wrote called Eala Mother Swan about a special bird that took a boy flying into the stars to heal his soul. It’s an interesting parallel connection there that sometimes, when we feel shattered, we need to reach up towards spirit, towards the divine, towards the celestial realms. And I also have a deep love of birds because they can help us rise up above it all. And we can all use some celestial love.

I’m going to take a quick ad break, and then I’ll invite Laura for a chat about Gospel Glass inspiration, and what turned her on to Jesus Christ. Stay tuned. I’ll be right back.
