Discovering Your Inner Archetype

Are you interested in discovering your inner archetype? How can painting create an internal connection with the muse within? In this episode of Wisdom of Ages, host Ayn Cates Sullivan and guest Amber Sibley talk about the process of how each person can discover their archetype through color, paint, and design. Amber is an Oscar-winning makeup artist. She uses her gifts to help others embody their archetype. Tune in to know what happens when you make a conscious connection with your archetype.

Ayn Cates Sullivan:

Welcome friends and mystical travelers. This is Ayn Cates Sullivan, host of Wisdom of the Ages, and today, I have a beautiful guest, long-term friend, Amber Sibley.

Amber Sibley:

Hello.

Ayn Cates Sullivan:

Hello, hello! She’s an Oscar-nominated makeup artist, so she’s really pretty fabulous with the paints, and she’s also a teacher of conscious beauty. Now, before I bring her on, I’m just going to tell you, I had an amazing experience with her years ago. She did a full-body painting of me as Lady of the Lake, and I love this archetype. And I had a profound experience doing that, so I’m going to share more about that after our ad break, but I just want you to know that she is pretty magic with color. So welcome, Amber Sibley.

Amber Sibley:

Hello. How are you?

Ayn Cates Sullivan:

I’m good, I’m good, I’m good. I didn’t mention that we’ve gone on so many quests and also if anybody ever sees my pictures wandering around looking good in the UK, that’s probably because you did my makeup and potentially the photograph too.

Amber Sibley:

And yeah, a few photographs as well. Indeed. Many, many times now.

Ayn Cates Sullivan:

We’ve had a lot of fun, haven’t we?

Amber Sibley:

Yeah. A lot of excursions and adventures.

Ayn Cates Sullivan:

Yeah, I know, and long may they continue. So, my goodness, I don’t know how many times I’ve been to Glastonbury now, probably… I don’t know, over the past 35 years, I think I’ve… I tried up until the pandemic, I tried to go at least once a year to the old pilgrimage place. And I was inspired there, years ago, at the Tellus of the Well, to find something about the divine feminine and got really into the archetype of the Lady of the Lake. And I met you somewhere in there. Actually in the US, but then we-

Amber Sibley:

No. We met.

Ayn Cates Sullivan:

We met last year again, right?

Amber Sibley:

20 odd years ago, I think.

Ayn Cates Sullivan:

Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I guess. So you live in this very magical part of the world, and I don’t know that much about Burley and what you’re up to these days. Okay, so in a real nutshell, why is it important to connect to nature?

Amber Sibley:

It’s so important to connect to nature, to appreciate not only the beauty around you but the beauty that is therefore within you because you are a part of nature. You’re not in nature, you are a part of it. And if you can see that you’re a part of all that is, then you can realize your own inner light and therefore everybody else’s as well. So it becomes a better world, because if we can all look at each other through the eyes of beauty, then you’re kinder and nicer to them. But the natural side of it for me is just the way to connect into the deeper part of ourselves that is there, always the heartbeat of the earth, and you and I have had so many adventures doing that.

Ayn Cates Sullivan:

We have! We have. Just as I’m speaking with you, I’m having this, like a heart-opening moment here. There was something that happened years ago and continues to happen. But there are these moments when… there are these mystical moments where something will open up. And I do remember when the landscape started to reveal itself to me as something that was alive, and something that I was a part of. And when that happened, my sense of being exiled or separate, or… It disappeared, it just dissipated. And I realize that there’s this… That we are very connected… We are an integral part of the universe. We are a beautiful design, a blueprint design that is absolutely imperative that we’re here. It’s imperative that we do our particular work, speak in our own unique way. And yet, in harmony with all that is. Have you had this experience too?

Amber Sibley:

Yeah, absolutely, and many times. I think actually one of the most powerful times was in Mount Shasta in California. I grew up in a little village in the woods in England called Burley and it’s sort of got a lot of witchy connections and things, and Mount Shasta was just one of the most amazing moments of my life where I just realized I really am the strength in the trees and the joy in the flowers and the expansion of the sky, you know, just really embodied that. And it was wonderful. So thoroughly.

Ayn Cates Sullivan:

That’s so amazing. So let’s… I want you to dive into that more. I’ve got to take an ad break. So what’s your website? How can people check you out and find out about your colors? Gosh, also how, how they can, how each person, if they’re interested, can discover their own archetype through color and paint and design?

Amber Sibley:

Yeah. It’s simply ambersibley.com.

Ayn Cates Sullivan:

Okay.

Amber Sibley:

You can get me that way. Ambersibley.com. Thank you.

Ayn Cates Sullivan:

Excellent. Okay. So stay tuned, we’ll be right back.
