Hi everyone. It’s Ashley Palmer. And welcome back to the We Rise channel. In today’s episode of We Rise, we have an amazing guest, Carlee Wooldridge. You guys, Carlee is a very dear friend of mine. She is amazing. And we have known each other for a couple of years, but really got to dive deep into our friendship in the few couples of years. She is a fellow pastor’s kid, so she feels it. We connect on that. She’s amazing. She’s so inspiring. She’s currently interning at a church in Phoenix, while she’s in school for ministry. I mean, she’s just a powerhouse for the Lord. I am so excited. She’s so inspirational and I can’t wait to just hear about her walk with Christ. Carlee, welcome. I’m so excited.

Activate Your Superpowers

Oh my gosh, I’m blushing. My word.

Oh, I just love you. You guys, Carlee is so amazing, and I’m so honored that she’s on our show. This is a blessing for all of us to just hear her wisdom.

Oh, my word. I’m excited to be here. This has been a year in the making, talking about it.

Yes, it has. Lots of prayers. Lots of like, “Hey, this might happen. Hey, this is happening. Hey, this is rolling.”

Totally.

Yeah.

It’s good stuff.

It is so good. Okay. Well, our big question, Carlee, what is your superpower, and how do you use it to help others rise up?

Well, I love you’re calling it a superpower. First of all, when you had texted me this question, I was like, “That is incredible.” Because that truly is, when we’re talking about strengths and talking about spiritual gifts, that is what it is. It’s something unique to you that no one else can do the way that you do it. And yeah, it’s so cool. So I love that.

Absolutely. Thanks.

But I was thinking about the answer to this question, and the first thing that I could think of, and I don’t really like to flatter myself, so that was really hard.

I know. I feel you girl.

Oh, 100%. I’m like, “Oh man. Okay. Let’s dive deep here.”

I know, right? It’s challenging.

Yeah. But the first thing that I can think of was just these, I think, gifts of excitement. And I think that I was trying to figure out a more spiritual and more catchy way to say it. But I think that is really what it is. And I think we try to complicate things a lot, but I think this excitement that I have, and I think it’s an excitement that’s contagious. Working in the church, in my friendships, and especially working with youth in the church, just making Jesus exciting, and making church exciting, and making whatever you’re doing exciting because that is how Jesus created this life to be. We’re supposed to have fun, and following Jesus is supposed to be fun and exciting. I think we, as the church, miss that a lot. We want it to be so serious, and we want to walk in and leave and feel like, “Oh man, I’m so convicted right now. I need to go cry in my room,” which sometimes yeah, you need to do that. But I think a lot of times, it’s supposed to be fun and exciting. This life is exciting. Being able to communicate and articulate that to kids, friends, and to whoever I’m working within the church or working with just in my life, I think is how I spread the gospel in a fun, exciting way. To answer your question of how I use it to rise up, it’s just communicating a not common message that the gospel is really exciting and Jesus is really exciting.

Wow.

And that’s a good thing.

Yes. So. Wow. You are a powerhouse. Girl, oh my goodness. Absolutely. Just hearing how excited you are, oh my gosh, thank you for sharing, because I just love it. I mean, everything about you is contagious, your smile, your laugh. Oh my gosh. you guys should follow her on Instagram, we’ll plug it in a second. But she’s just beautiful. I mean, Carlee, you just spread your light everywhere and we are so blessed. Everywhere you go is like, “Oh my goodness, I know she’s here because the joy is so prominent.” You just bring it everywhere and I’m so serious. Everyone who knows you and is listening is like, “Yep, that’s Car.”

Which I feel like it’s absolutely you, too.

Stop.

So every time we were together, we were just at a coffee shop and everyone knew that Ashley Palmer and Carlee Wooldridge were together, because it was just joy and laughter and fun.

Yeah. I love it. And it just reminds me of that verse, it’s like, “There is a time for laughing and a time for mourning,” but especially for laughing. Right? And I love how that is put in a biblical term of like. There are so many things that the Bible calls us to do, but it also tells us to laugh and to have fun.

Absolutely.

And I love that you put that into words because it’s so often overlooked. Especially working in the church, everything needs to be organized, and sometimes we lose the fun in it. In ministry and teaching and honestly loving, we lose the fun in loving people. You just bring that to life, and I’m so honored that you’re here to talk about that. Because that was the best superpower I’ve probably ever heard, and the most accurate one. Because I’m like, “Yep. Yeah, that’s a fire.” And that’s the first time I’m hearing it from you. So you guys, I’m just as shocked as you are.

Oh, man.

Okay. You’re just amazing. Okay. Well, we have to take a quick break really quick. But Car, where can people find you?

Oh, man. Well, the Instagram user is @CarleeWooldridge. Super simple. Short and sweet. But that is it.

Yes, ma’am. Yes guys, go follow her. Go catch up with her again. Just check her out because she is so amazing. Okay. We’ll be right back. But everyone you are listening to the We Rise channel with Ashley Palmer and guest, Carlee Wooldridge. I’m talking about just life and love. But yeah, stay tuned and we will be right back.
