Sit, Stay, Write A Book

Amorahki: Hello beautiful beings! Welcome to another episode of Superpowers of the Soul. I’m your host, Amorahki Kimberlee Fenn, and I am extremely excited to be inside this empowering episode, all about how to sit, stay, write a book, with our incredibly inspiring guest, Ann Crawford.

Ann is someone who believes in love at first sight, that good always prevails, and that we are here for those ‘wild, wonderful, way out their visions’ of ours to come alive! She is the bestselling and award-winning author of 10 life-affirming books that weave tales of love and intrigue and take readers on mystical journeys. Her books include stories about angels, a walk-in, a healer during the Burning Times, Mary Magdalene, and an actor whose BFF committed suicide.

Her latest book, Bazoomerangs, is about a Boomer ex-flower child still living like it’s 1969, a Gen X Buick-driving, religious Trumper, and a Gen-Z 20-year-old trans woman all living under one roof.

What could possibly go right?

Ann is awesome! She is also an award-winning filmmaker. Her first movie was about a group of vets returning to Viet Nam to perform humanitarian work, give something back to the people, return to their areas of operation, and heal their wounds of war. Her second movie involved traveling all around the world and interviewing people from all walks of life – heads of state, street kids, academics, artists, all the folks of this world – on how they envisioned creating world peace.

Ann is an award-winning humanitarian as well, and I know her to be an exceptionally kind, talented, and true-hearted woman who entertains while she secretly heals, inspires, and offers hope in places where there often isn’t any left. With Ann in the house today I know we’re going to have a great time and the show will be overflowing with so much value, joy, and laughter for you!

So, let’s bring her on! Ann, sweetheart, welcome to the show! I’m so happy you’re here.

Ann Crawford: Thank you so much. It’s such a pleasure to be here.

Activate Your Superpowers

Amorahki: I’m thrilled to have you here today. I feel like so many of us can relate to the desire to write a book. You know that they say everyone has at least one book in them just waiting to get out. But how many of us actually get one written, let alone get many books written and into the hands of their perfect readers? I mean, it’s quite a feat! When did you first get hit by the writing bug, so to speak?

Ann Crawford: Oh, age three. When I could first hold a pencil! I used to write in the back of books that my mother would read to me. Oh, she was she would get so upset with me. But I would take a pencil and continue writing the story. I didn’t want them to stop!

Amorahki: Oh, that is the most precious thing I’ve ever heard. Really?

Ann Crawford: Yeah. And that was before I could even write words. They were just kind of like markings, just the beginning of something or other.

Amorahki: The original language, symbols! Oh, my goodness. I can just imagine your mother too! Bless her precious heart for putting up with your genius and all the ways it wanted to come out at 3! So really, as far back as you remember, huh? Wow.

Ann Crawford: Yes, absolutely. I really sat down to write my first book at about age 24. So, it took a while, relatively speaking, from age three to get it going!

Amorahki: And those years always seem so much longer than later years. I’m discovering this as I grow ever older! I love that you essentially came into the world with this burning desire and I’m so curious to talk about all the behind the scenes to your books, and really about the creative process in general, to get some of your best tips for all our creators out there.

We need to take a short break before we do that. Ann, where can we tell people to go to find out more about you, your books, and everything you’re up to in the world?

Ann Crawford: My website is anncrawford.net and there’s no “e” on Ann. I was a tiny baby, and they wanted a tiny name for me. And now that I’m six feet tall, that feels a little odd! And Instagram is where I connect with a lot of my readers. It’s Anne Crawford author on Instagram.

Amorahki: Excellent! All right, everyone, you are listening to Superpowers of the Soul here on the Superpower Network and we’re going to take a short break and be right back to talk about how to sit, stay, write a book with Anne Crawford when we return. Stay tuned, you will not want to miss what’s coming up next!
