Jerry Teplitz:

Well, thanks, Kristin. I’m delighted to be here.

Kristin Maxwell:

Yes, I’m excited. I love all this. As I just said before we came on, I love all of this brain stuff and everything they’re learning about how we’re not stuck with the thoughts we’re thinking or the emotions we’re having or the energy we’re in, and how there are simple things we can do to start switching that. My first question though is always, what superpower did you uncover as the result of mastering your mind?

Jerry Teplitz:

That’s actually a really interesting question because I’ve been working in the personal development, professional development field for over 50 years. I’ve been meditating for 50 years doing yoga. And so it’s like, what I’ve realized from all of that, that the way I convey information to people, the notion of all the groups I’ve spoken to, that my superpower is really being able to turn people on to themselves and what they can do for themselves that they may not have ever been aware of before.

Kristin Maxwell:

Yes. So say a little bit more for that if you would, just for people who have no idea what we’re talking about.

Jerry Teplitz:

Okay. So an example would be, and we’re going to actually do an exercise on this later, is showing people how you can take it. And Kristin, you’ve had these negative, stressful thoughts that are hard to get out of your mind at times, correct?

Kristin Maxwell:

Yes. That’s how I got into this work. Yes.

Jerry Teplitz:

Okay. Right. That’s good motivation. I need to heal myself.

Kristin Maxwell:

Yeah, exactly. Very much so.

Jerry Teplitz:

Anyway, when you have that kind of thought, it’s affecting people in ways that they’re probably not aware of, and that’s part of the experience we’re going to do. And then I’m going to be showing you how in two minutes you can get rid of a charge attached to that negative thought. So you’d be able to think about the situation, but it’s not going to have a negative impact on you.

As a matter of fact, when people get rid of the negative, they’ll tend, many times to have other ideas and solutions pop in because when you have a negative hitting you, you can’t get beyond that. You don’t see other possibilities. And so once you take off the charger, other things become possible because the charge is not weighing you down.

Kristin Maxwell:

Yes. That’s so interesting, is this idea. It’s funny because thinking about the brain and thoughts and then the body and our nervous system, I was always anxious. I’d have the thought of I’m unsafe. Like, oh, this is unsafe right here, and my body would just go into a panic.

Jerry Teplitz:

Yeah.

Kristin Maxwell:

Okay. So you’re saying I can sort of break that automatic panic response through this, or something like that. I mean, panic is a strong word, an anxious response.

Jerry Teplitz:

Yes, ma’am.

Kristin Maxwell:

Good. That’s great.

Jerry Teplitz:

That’s what we’ll do a little later in the interview.

Kristin Maxwell:

Okay. Cool. Well, we do have to take a break talking about the brain hacks for better living. We always go on a break really fast. I know people are going to be intrigued to find out more about you and what you do, where can they find you online or on social media?

Jerry Teplitz:

Yeah, online, they can go to my website teplitz.com.

Kristin Maxwell:

Great. Hang on, everybody. When we come back, we’re going to be talking more about brain hacks for better living and what you can do yourself. So hang on.
