Super Conscious Wisdom
How can we have superconscious wisdom? Why is conscience an essential predecessor of our actions? In this episode of Wisdom of Ages, host Ayn Cates Sullivan and guest Leonard Perlmutter talk about unlocking wisdom and creativity to alleviate personal and even global problems. They also tackle the importance of conscience and how each of our actions begins with a thought. Tune and let us start with the primary inquiry of ‘who am I?’ to rise to self-reliance and success gradually.
Ayn Cates Sullivan:
Welcome and blessings. This is Ayn Cates Sullivan, host of Wisdom of Ages. And today I have a fascinating guest for you. His name is Leonard Perlmutter, also known as Ram Lev. So we might hear a little bit more about that. He is a teacher of yoga science, and he is the Founder of the American Meditation Institute. He’s written a new and very helpful book called Your Conscience: The Key to Unlock Limitless Wisdom and Creativity and Solve All of Life’s Challenges. And actually, I did find the book to be very, very helpful and I highly recommend it. I just watched his very uplifting free videos on his website. And if you’re interested in health and inner peace and enlightenment check out his website, americanmeditation.org. There’s a lot there.
So one of the inquiries he brings forward is this, have you ever considered the possibility that Coronavirus was sent to us on a mission of mercy to save us and our planet? That’s a great inquiry. By setting aside our rigid likes and dislikes, we can create a kinder, safer, and more rewarding world. I’m right on board. So welcome, Leonard Perlmutter.
Leonard Perlmutter:
I appreciate it. Thank you for the invitation.
Ayn Cates Sullivan:
Yeah. Well, thank you for all the amazing work you’re doing. As I said, I watched some of your videos and they’re very inspiring. So can you give us in a nutshell just like a two-minute take on your new book, Your Conscience? What inspired you here to write this book?
Leonard Perlmutter:
The writing of the book was nothing that I had planned, nothing that I had desired. It was February of 2020, and my wife was in quarantine and I was not receiving students. We didn’t do live classes. We had to cancel our physician conference and our summer retreat.
How am I going to reach people? How am I to serve? And I contemplated long and hard on it. And what I came up with was, that I need to share something that will help people because like everybody really, I was watching some television, reading magazines and news reports about the events, not only of the Coronavirus but also of the intense political enmity and fear that has seemed to have spread not only in our country but throughout the planet.
What is there anything that I can do in a way of service? And I thought to myself, the best thing I could do from this perspective, being in quarantine, was to create something as a gift to people to teach them how to take care of themselves, how to live a more rewarding life, and to make better lifestyle choices. And that was an understanding of, and coordination of the functions of the mind, and recognizing that the conscience is what differentiates us from other animals. Only the human being has a conscience, which can reflect superconscious wisdom from the center of consciousness. And so that’s a game-changer for all of us. And I thought it was worth my energy.
Ayn Cates Sullivan:
It’s a beautiful book. After this ad break, let’s get into the four functions of the mind. But you go into quite a few different things. It’s a deep book, but it’s very accessible. I think you’ve done a really good job.
Leonard Perlmutter:
That was my intention was to speak to everybody. Anybody that has an ear to hear in an eye to see, I wanted to reach them regardless of their background, their preparation, their political persuasions. I see everybody as a projection of my own self. And so I write for myself in all these different forms.
Ayn Cates Sullivan:
It’s Beautiful. That’s beautiful. Okay. So we’ll get into this a little more deeply. So stay tuned, everybody. We’ll be right back.
