Hi everyone. I am Ayn Cates Sullivan, host of Wisdom of the Ages, and today I have a really interesting guest that I’m looking forward to finding out more about. His name is Master Mingtong Gu. I just started doing a beginner qigong course with him. So I’m a newbie, a complete newbie to this subject, but I feel like during times of shift and change of the times that we’re in now, that it benefits us to have a strong lineage, something behind us so that we can blossom into a new humanity.
So each week, I interview spiritual teachers, healers, and authors from around the world, and you can listen to a lot more episodes on superpowerexperts.com/wisdom-of-the-ages. And you can also find more spiritual books and fairytales on my publishing website, infinitelightpublishing.com. But today, we’re focusing on master Mingtong Gu, founder of the Chi Center for wisdom healing qigong.
I’ve just started doing a few of these videos, but the energy and the wisdom were quite intense. I’ve been enjoying it, so I can understand why qigong has been considered a healing secret. We’ll find out more about that. But after just a couple of the videos, I had so much energy that I had to go, go out and walk in the mountains. So anyway, and I loved to have the energy in my body so that I can go out and walk in the elements, feeling my place in this natural cycle of existence. So, because not all of my listeners will know that much about qigong. I want to explain just the basics from my limited perspective here, but in Chinese, the energy of life is called Chi. And after the ad break, I’m going to bring in our guests.
He can correct me if I’m off here, but physicists say that we are 96% energy. So with this scientific discovery, suddenly, this old Chi practice makes sense. What we’re doing is we’re engaging in a powerful mystery. Qigong is a 5000-year-old science and healing art, 5000 years old. So it’s been around that long for a reason. Students learn to nurture and work with the Chi, and ultimately this can empower a person to heal from within. So I’m looking forward to developing more of this. Master Mingtong calls qigong the grandmother of traditional Chinese medicine. And of course, Chinese medicine has many components, including acupuncture, herbalism, martial arts, and Tai Chi. And I’ve also just finished reading his book, Ancient Chinese Healing Secrets. If you want to know more, you can look at his book, and then you can check out some of his videos online.
He has quite a lot of videos, but master Mingtong said one thing. If I took one sentence out of the book, it was this, and it struck me. “Your mind and body are simply two manifestations of a single energetic being.” Wow, that’s fascinating. Your mind and body are simply two manifestations of a single energetic being. So let’s explore that a little bit more after the break. So the form of qigong that Master Mingtong practices is called Wisdom Healing Qigong. In his book, again the Ancient Chinese Healing Secrets, master Mingtong discusses how the body and mind are typically perceived in the West as separate. I mean, we speak of mind over matter. We think of these things as different, but they’re not. We need to find this connection between the body, the wisdom of the body, the wisdom of the mind, and the spirit that everything makes us whole.
So in the Chinese tradition, we have this. They have this understanding of a holistic paradigm of the mind-body part as inseparable energy systems. So this is to me, just very wide. When we speak of the wisdom of the ages, this is it. Master Mingtong writes, “There isn’t an invisible yet measurable energy field, connecting your body, mind, heart, and all life.” So I’ll say that one more time. There is an invisible yet measurable energy field connecting your mind, body, heart, and all life. Wow. That’s beautiful. So I can hardly wait to hear more. So I’m going to take a brief break. You can go and check him out. Master Mingtong’s website is chicenter.com, and stay tuned. We’ll be right back.
