Today I’ve got a great show for you. We’re going to go into the world of imagination: The world of elven races. We’re going to find out where our superpowers really are. This show I’ve just been speaking to my guest, Michael Ross. He’s an amazing, quite an amazing person, and I’m really touched to get to know him. We’re going to go into epic fantasy, but also life. We’ve been in a difficult period of Earth’s history now, too. And sometimes literature and art and story can really help us integrate everything that’s going on. So this is why I love folklore, fairy tales, fantasy fiction. There’s something really quite powerful about giving the inner child, our child, freedom to play and then dream, because we need to do this. As conscious individuals, we really need to be able to dream a new reality.
People have asked me if my novel Nimue: Freeing Merlin is my autobiography, and we’re going to get into this and with the One Chronicles in a second here. I have to say, well, can an author write a story that isn’t to do with their own life? So we can say maybe it’s an autobiography if I had superpowers, or in the place where I have superpowers.
But anyway, fiction can help us share dreams and insights. I feel like fiction, fantasy fiction, is a place where we can share a shamanic journey, our wild encounters, our healing experiences, our insights that we might not want to talk about in a way that people view as the end quote real. But in fiction, we can start to explore the edges of imagination. We can walk on the edge of the numinous. So this is why fairy tales matter.
I want to go into this, but I also wanted to share, I wrote a series of fairy tales for my kids. They’re called the Sparkle Fairy Tales. And I wrote it because I wanted their playful inner spark to stay with them as they went off to college, as they went into the world. And they wrote back and said, “my friends need these messages. Can you publish these messages?” And I said, “Okay.” That was actually the beginning of Infinite Light Publishing.
I feel like when we can tap into this creative spark that’s in us, each one of us has this. We can really tap into this creative spark. Then we really can step into a new paradigm. We can dream a new earth together.
So, let’s see what else here. I feel fairies, elves and elemental do have wisdom. My kids went to Waldorf schools, and Rudolf Steiner, who founded the Waldorf schools, taught about the elementals. And he did it in a way with non-fiction, but he described in his book Nature, which is really worth reading, he gnomes, undines, sylphs, salamanders or fire fairies, and how they work in harmony together.
I just wanted to share something about it because I thought that was so beautiful. He describes gnomes as the beings under the earth who tend seeds, and then the undines as the water spirit, the water fairies, who will at a certain time in the spring, the gnomes kind of push the seeds out, and the undines come down and they bring the water to the seeds. And then the sylphs, the air ferries, allow the seeds to come up to grow, and then the salamanders kiss them. The fire fairies kiss them, and then you have blossoms.Â
I just thought, my goodness, what a lovely way of describing how the world works. Is that fantasy or real? I’ll leave that one up to you.
If you’re interested in wise elves and elementals, I would also like for you to check out a different episode I did with Penny Kelly called, “Elves, Elementals and the Nature of Reality.” That’s her non-fiction encounter with elves and how they changed her life.
I’m going to take a little break and then I’m going to introduce Michael Ross. I’m going to tell you a little bit about him right now. Michael Ross was a very successful actor and model for over 25 years. He had businesses in the hair and beauty industry. He was a ski instructor and competed internationally as an athlete and martial artist before turning author. He also developed a successful fitness brand called KETTFusion. But it was a visit to a clairvoyant who suggested that he try writing, and that put him on the path of becoming an author, which is where we find him today. So, here we’re going to find out how this reading, I want to find out more about this reading and how this turned his life around and how fantasy became his reality. We could explore about that and the elven races a little bit.
While we take this ad break, you can check out more about the elven races and the One Chronicles on. It’s a wonderful website. I was super impressed with it. When I looked at it, you can find all four books there. We’re going to take a short break and then I’ll introduce our guest. Stay tuned. We’ll be right back.
