Is it possible for order and fun to come together? In this episode of SuperPower Mommas, host Laura Greco and guest Gail Kreitzer talk about the gift of creating order and fun. Gail created a system called washboarding that allows moms and others to declutter their mind to enjoy genuine fun and order in their lives. She also discusses tips on how to parent from a deeper intuitive space and release the overwhelming feelings of having to do it all. Gail shares her own story of how she developed this process when a deep challenge arose while parenting her two daughters. Join Laura and Gail in today’s episode to develop your superpower in the gift of creating fun and order.
Hello everyone and welcome. I’m Laura Greco and I want to thank you so much for tuning in. You’re listening to SuperPower Mommas and we are going to be talking about the gift of creating order and fun. Sound good? Boy, I’m excited about this conversation, especially since this year of 2020 has certainly seen a lot of changes in the world and in our lives. As people and especially as mothers, it is not only important, but it is also our privilege to develop our superpower in the gift of creating fun and order in our lives and in our parenting.
This is not always easy, though, is it? Honing and developing such a superpower is a powerful gift and it invites us into so much peace and harmony in our lives when we allow it and when we’re feeling uncertain in these uncertain times, it can be quite a challenge. However, I invite you to ponder this question: When did we adopt the illusion that life is or has ever been certain? Finding a sense of security in an uncertain world is what allows us to find what is truly satisfying in life.
I am so excited to have my guest today because she is the essence, in my view of her, of being that gift of creating order and fun. Gail Kreitzer is my colleague, and as I said, my friend for some years now. She is here to share her gifts that she gives to the world, not only by her essence of who she is, but also through her business. You will want to listen in to the show that we did previously since she is a return guest and the title of that show was How to Illuminate and Declutter. Oh, I didn’t write the title correctly. Okay. Well, it will be in the show notes, I’ll be sure to put it in there, but anyway, it’s about decluttering and achieve inner balance, and I’m sure you can find it on my page. It’s there.
Now, a little bit about Gail is that she has a husband and two daughters and she lives in New Jersey. She is a leader of women’s empowerment group, B.I.G., which is how we got to meet each other. She loves hot yoga, hiking, and Scrabble, and I love this: avoid laundry. She is also the founder of her company, Little Big Things, and most of all, for me, who has known Gail for some years, she is that person that brings sparkle and light both into both her life and the lives of all that she touches. She is a perfect guest to come on and talk about this gift of creating order and fun in our lives and so I want to introduce to you and all of our guests Gail Kreitzer. Welcome, honey, and thank you so much for taking out time to be with us today.
Laura, it’s my sincere pleasure to be back on your podcast. I’m super excited, too, so thank you.
Good. Now, on the last show, we talked about your superpower, but I’m going to invite you to answer that question again about what is your Super Momma power? Because you are a mom and you are also going through this time period right now with all of us, so talk to us about that.
Yeah, yeah. My superpower is really about leveraging a very intuitive approach to organization, to help moms stay connected to every area of their life and stay connected to themselves and so that moms can feel like they’re in control, but not overwhelmed, and most importantly, not forgetting about themselves or not having to sacrifice their own fulfillment and their own happiness as they serve their children, their families, and that’s what really I’m about. I declutter busy minds and I help people unleash their power.
Okay, right there, that sounds so, so comforting. It’s got to be. I mean, all of us as moms, we can find that easily find ourselves in a default of overwhelm, so.
Absolutely.
And you’re a mom, yeah.
And I’m a mom, so I’ve been there. I will also just give everyone another kind of analogy. I know many people have heard of Marie Kondo and she is like the guru of physical clutter and I consider myself to be the Marie Kondo of mental clutter because I do believe it all starts in our mind and we carry around so many things in our mind, so it really begins as a mom, how do we create faith in our minds so that we can create the space in our lives, in our families, for our children, to live our best life.
I will share with you that I developed my approach to mindful organization which I called dashboarding years ago to really address my own problem with overwhelm, so it really was born out of my own need to feel centered, to feel connected, and fully present in my life.
Love it, and that’s exactly why I’m so excited you are here today as we have this conversation. We have to go for a break, Gail, but when we get back, I want all our listeners to know that we have planned to actually hear your story about the journey that you made in that exact same place that many of us find ourselves in, that kind of cluttered way of living and then moving through that to being actually de-cluttered or creating order and fun in our lives. Can you tell people, though, where they can find you before we go for the break?
Yes. The official name of my company is The Little Big Things because I do believe it’s the littlest things that make the biggest impact, but I’m also known as Dashboarding Minds and my website is dashboardingminds.com and that’s how you can find me.
Beautiful, so y’all have to pop over there. In the meantime, please stay with us. We’ll be right back. We have to take a break. We are talking about the gift of creating order and fun with Gail Kreitzer. Hang on.
