Hello everyone, you’re listening to SuperPower Mommas, and I’m your host, Laura Greco, and I am so excited to be speaking with you today on creating inner peace and joy. I have with me a beautiful person, a very gentle soul who has learned to be courageous in her own life. Susan is an innovator of a method that enables people to identify and remove internal conflict, so that they can attain peace and joy promised in the Bible. Drawing on her knowledge and belief in the Bible, and by her experience as an occupational therapist, her expertise is helping clients to identify and resolve internal emotions and sabotaging beliefs, and to assist them in tackling their own spirituality in a way that allows them to be open to creating that joy and peace within their own hearts. So I’m so excited to have you with us, Susan. Thank you for being here.
I’m so happy to be here. Oh, you’re welcome, Laura. Thank you for having me. I’m looking forward to sharing with your wonderful listeners.
Yeah. And we had a little opportunity to talk before this interview another day actually, and I just was taken with your gentle yet very strong belief system, and how you had discovered that peace for yourself. So thank you for being here.
You’re welcome.
So tell me, what is your mama superpower? We always start with that, so.
Well, my superpower, I was not born with like Superman. I mean, I had to develop it and anyone can, and it’s really having emotional awareness of our emotions, and being able to manage them and being sensitive to emotions in others, and knowing how to manage emotions in the context of relationships, as well as just within oneself. And anyone can develop that, and in fact most of us have very little modeling growing up in how to do that, and we’re not taught in kindergarten when we really could start using some training in how to deal with emotions. And so, we grow up without any kind of help typically in dealing with them. So they’re calling it, these days, I see it referred to as emotional intelligence, being aware of being able to manage emotions.
Love it. Yeah, and I was very interested in the blend that you have created in bridging the gap between basically a lot of different beliefs in the science, as well as the Bible, and how they come together. Would you like to expand a little, just a little bit more on that, when you talk about the emotional awareness that you were talking about?
Well, in the Bible, God talks about the heart, and he talks in the Old and New Testament frequently about our heart, and when I see the research on the subconscious, the subconscious has a lot of traits that I see God describing and attributing to the heart. So I think God’s been telling us about the heart and the subconscious for thousands of years. And the heart, really is a place that’s actually separate from the mind, but it has its own conscience as far as some ability to have knowledge, and it’s really the biblical seat of the subconscious, and it’s a place where both our physical body, and our spiritual life, and our soul all are centered and they all connect there. It’s like an intersection place for all those aspects of our self, and an intersection where we can meet with God.
And so, but the heart also has the potential to be deceived. The subconscious tends to have a negativity bias, they’re finding with research, and tends to look at things kind of in a protective negative way as a self-protective kind of mechanism, and the heart tends to easily do that as well. So when I say heart and subconscious, I’m really talking about one and the same. And so, we have to truly, like God tells us, guard our heart and fill it with the truth of his word, and otherwise, we can easily get conclusions down there. Research is showing that the subconscious will come to a decision in seven seconds before the conscious makes a decision, and it’s like the subconscious presents the decision to the conscious brain.
But I found that in my heart are conclusions, based on experiences in my life, what people have told me, what I think to myself, what I say, the heart’s paying attention all the time, and it will come to conclusions based on everything and we have to be really careful, otherwise the conclusions will be self-protective and limiting, and really are not benefiting us in the long run. So we need to learn to find out what’s in it, and that can be emotions based on beliefs and conclusions, and make sure that the content is what we want it to be, otherwise, we’ll really perceive the world through beliefs and conclusions that we don’t want to perceive the world.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah. You’ve really beautifully opened up our conversation for the next bit of time while we do the center view. Thank you for explaining that. Yeah, we have to go for a quick break talking about creating inner peace and joy, but I would love for you to share where people can find you, and so please, share with us where they can find you or find information you have. I know you have a gift for everyone, so.
I do you have a gift for everyone. If you put truthfulheart.com/gift up in your browser, and that’s truthful with one L, truthful heart, then you’ll be able to book a discovery session with me if you’d like to do that, and I would love to talk with any of you, and you’ll also be getting information on how to muscle test. I’ll teach you how to muscle test, and give you a wonderful emotion chart that you can also test what your emotions are at any given time, including subconscious emotions, it’s very valuable. And then in the discovery session, I can help you problem solve if you’re having any trouble with this self muscle testing.
Beautiful. Thank you so much, what a great gift. I hope you all hop over there and get that, because that is really a useful tool. I know I use it myself, the muscle testing, so beautiful. Thank you. Okay, everyone.
You’re welcome.
Yeah. So everyone hold on, because we’re talking about creating inner peace and joy, and we’ll be right back with Susan McCracken.
