JJ Flizanes, an author, director, Empowerment Strategist, and host, joins Neva Lee Recla to share her thoughts about self image. She vividly reminds us that the word ‘fitness’ is not just about the state of one’s physical body, but also the factors which determine a person’s overall well being. And, for JJ, the key components in all these areas are ‘invisible’ — balanced support structures of nutrition, emotional centeredness and health. She also designs customized coaching programs and unique, versatile approaches that harmonize the emotional, the mental and the spiritual. Listen in as she talks about superpower self image.
Hi kids. This is your Super Power Kid, Neva Lee Recla and today we have on our show a very, very special guest, JJ Flizanes. She is one of my very good friends, so without further ado, will you help me welcome my very good friend JJ Flizanes? Hi, JJ!
Hi, Neva! I’m so excited to be on your show!
I am too! I’m super excited to have you. So, today we’re gonna be talking with JJ about superpower self-image.
So, what are your superpowers?
What are my superpowers? I think my first superpower is that I am a really good problem solver. I like to solve problems, and I feel like I keep learning. Actually, that’s another superpower too, is I love learning.
I love learning all kinds of stuff to give me more tools in my toolbox, so when someone has a problem I can look through my toolbox and pick out the right tools to help them solve the problem.
That’s awesome.
Yeah.
So I thought since you’re a superhero, we should do a superhero pose.
Superhero pose?
Yep.
Okay. I like that.
What’s yours?
My superhero pose?
Yeah.
So, we just come up with something that we think is a power pose and we do it.
Okay. Do we go together or do you go first?
We can do it together.
Okay. I have to back up cause mine, you can’t see it, mine’s like this.
This is great. So, do you have any questions for me?
What are your superpowers?
Well, my superpower is something I like to call gecko ability. And, it’s actually on the Super Power Experts website. It’s actually called chameleon ability, but I like saying it’s gecko. So, basically, it gives me the power to do funny voices and stuff and another one is I also love to learn. So, yeah.
Since I’m homeschooled I really like to learn new things.
Nice!
Yeah.
Good!
Thank you. So, let me think of a question. So, what advice do you have for kids on how they can be inspired to love themselves for who they are?
That’s a good one.
Thank you.
Yeah, how can kids love themselves for who they are?
Yep.
So, I think that the most powerful thing you can do for yourself is to have a good relationship with your soul and sort of your gut check. Right? What feels good to you and understand when something feels good and when something doesn’t feel good.
And, to not necessarily listen to all the voices in your head necessarily. Like, not to be in here, but trust your body and do what feels good. And, to learn how to be your biggest cheerleader and your own best friend. And, to treat yourself as if you were a little baby and you can care for a little baby, but you’re the baby. And, you do what is loving, and what is supportive, and what is nurturing, and understanding for yourself.
Yep. I really like that. I thought it was great advice. Thank you!
You’re welcome.
Do you have any more questions for me?
So, we know what your superpowers are and what do you want the world to know about you? How do you want to help the world?
How do I want to help the world? I love that question. I really want to inspire one million kids to do business and let kids know that even if they don’t want to do business that they can and they are capable of anything.
I love it!
Thank you. So, we have to take a quick break. So, we have been talking with JJ Flizanes about superpower self-image. We’ll be right back.
