How do parents successfully set an example for their kids? Oftentimes, parents find it difficult to set themselves as role models for their children. There is a notion that tells them that they should have accomplished something for their children to look up to them. In this episode of Super Power Kid, host Neva Lee Recla and guest Neil Young dive into the topic of setting an example for others and seeing what parents can do to be of service to their kids. Neil believes that his super powers include being organized, productive, energetic, and most importantly, being a role model to kids and even adults. He also believes that in becoming a role model, one must also remember to bring a light onto the world. Listen in and see how to keep moving forward and remain to set yourself as an example for kids and adults alike.
Hey everyone. It’s your Super Power Kids, Neva Lee Recla. I’m very excited for this interview today. We are going to be talking about how to set an example for kids.
So this guest today is very special. His name is Neil Young. We met on social media on Instagram, because he just reached out. Again, I keep on telling you all, reach out if you have questions. Reach out if you want to have a cool conversation.
We’ve been talking for probably about two weeks now, even longer than that. But again, he reached out. He set that example. He works with people like Tony Robbins, and during this time he’s learned these four things that you have to control. Your intentions, your feelings, your habits, and your energy. He has a seven month old son, which I think is awesome. He’s so cool. So without further ado, will you help me welcome our guest, Neil Young.
Hi Neil. How are you?
Thank you. Thank you, Neva. Good to be here. Great introduction, thank you. I’m very well, thank you.
Awesome. Thank you so much for coming on today. I’m very excited to have you on the show to talk about setting an example. So without further ado, what are your superpowers?
My superpowers. So I’ve worked very hard on this, the person I am now compared to who I was maybe six, seven years ago has changed quite a bit. If you met me six, seven years ago, you’d be like, “Who is this guy? This is a completely different person.” So, my superpowers, I’d like to say I have eight I’m focusing on. I’m super organized. I’m great at bringing people together and getting stuff done. I’d say I’m very productive. I make do with what I have. I always feel money is the last thing that you get, like your time and your resources. I’m always very productive with those. I’d say I’m very powerful and energetic. I’m always keeping my energy high because I’m always focusing on so many things. I’m a bit greedy that way. I always put a ton of energy into stuff.
I’d say I’m very loving, too. I’m a very kind and gentle soul, and anyone I interact with, I expect the same from them, too. Just be very loving and kind. That’s how I was brought up. I’m quite lighthearted, too. I do like to be silly, and I’m looking forward to a silly FaceTime. That sounds like fun. I’d say I’m quite leading. And in terms of… I’m always learning. If you spend time with Tony Robbins, it’s constant and never ending learning. I say I’ve got a big abundance mindset, too. I like to focus on what I have instead of what I don’t have. And finally, to cap off my superpowers, I’d say I’m a role model. I just like to sample for people and help as many people as I can. Yeah.
That’s awesome. That is awesome. Those are good superpowers to have. And I would say I definitely have some of those super powers as well, so I can agree on that. And also something I realized is, with those superpowers, you have to take that action step and you got to keep on moving forward. And again, going back to setting an example… and it’s not just adults setting an example for kids. It’s kids setting an example for other kids, or even for adults.
That’s another part of superpowers is, we’re able to do so much with them. And with setting examples, we have to do so much with our superpowers. And that is something really important to look at is, when we’re setting an example for kids or when we’re kids setting the example for other people, we have to be able to see what we can do to be of service. We have to be able to see how we can start bringing that light onto the world.

Yeah. I totally agree. And I think some people might think, “Oh, it’s really hard to be a role model. I need to have accomplished something,” but you just need to have passion and desire, and come from your heart and come from a place of service where you’re just giving your heart and playing full out with whatever you’re doing. Whether it’s your health, your business, your relationships, your finances, your education, it’s just having passion and desire, and thinking, “I’m going to give my all to this.” So, I think anyone can be a role model, but it’s just overcoming that fear and just taking that first step.
Exactly. I definitely agree with that. And something you said is, you have to overcome that fear. That is so true because if we’re afraid to get out there, no one’s going to listen to us. I know it sounds really like, well, that’s kind of mean, but it’s true. Every time I speak on stage, or every time I get on an interview, or every time I do a reading for someone, or every Thoughts for Thursday, I always have nervousness, if that’s a word. I always get nervous about something, but I realized that I have to be the one to overcome that because no one’s going to do it for me.
And also in speaking, and in that engagement mindset, the adrenaline is enough to keep you going, and you have to keep going. Because if you stop, it’s like Jumanji. If you stop for like one second and you don’t look around, you’re going to get eaten by a large snake, or something’s going to make you fall over, or an ostrich is going to come chase you. Like an ostrich of fear is going to come knock you down. So you have to keep going. No matter what, you have to keep pursuing that. And you have to overcome that fear.
Yeah. That’s beautiful, the way you phrased that. What we’ll talk about later when I come to the four human needs, one of them is growth, and that’s just moving forward. I think it’s one of the most important ones. The other ones are important too, but just moving forward because nobody’s perfect. You know? So just keeping moving forward. I’ve seen a great quote from Grant Cardone saying, “If you’re moving so fast and getting so much done, then you haven’t got any time for the negativity or all the commotion that’s happening around you.” So moving forward, I totally agree. Really important. Yeah.
Yeah, exactly. So we do have to start going into break. And again, keep moving forward and keep setting that example. It’s also when you set that example for others, you’re setting that example for yourself.
Yeah.
So Neil, where can people go to find out more about you?
You can find me on Instagram at advanced_alpha. Advanced Alpha is the name of my company. Facebook, I’m probably most active on Facebook. Check out Neil Dylan Young. And then if you want more info, go to my website, advancedalpha.ae. That stands for Arab Emirates because I’m based in Dubai, UAE. I have a free download on there. Yeah, that’s awesome. Definitely go check him out because he is so awesome. And again, for me, reach out. Like I said, that is how Neil and I met. He reached out on Instagram. Keep on doing that. Maybe we can have a Super Power Kids conversation. Who knows what the possibilities are? And again, go to superpowerkidsclub.com for my kids club, for kids and parents to learn how to embrace their superpowers as a family, and where your kids can learn success skills and all about business.
