What happens when science catches up? What can it do to our whole existence? In this episode of Science of Superpowers, host Tonya Dawn Recla and guest Courtney Marchesani talk more about science and spaces and how connecting and playing into these spaces can make our lives magical and miraculous. Courtney is the author of the book Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive. It is a phenomenal work that ties in some deeply rooted scientific evidence in what we all know is going on. Tune into this episode to hear Tonya and Courtney delve into how playing in your own space can give a voice of intuition and intelligence to save lives.
Hello everyone, and thank you so much for joining us again on the Science of Superpowers. I so adore the fact that you joined us here and we know you’re listening. We get the feedback. It warms us up. That matters to us, folks. We love hearing from you and we love that you’re sharing this with others who are looking for hope. And the numbers just keep going up so we know you’re doing your part, and we just really appreciate that. Thank you for being with us and, as our gift to you, you’re going to get to hear from another brilliant, brilliant mind. Brilliant person, just an amazing being who’s lighting up the world in her space, standing in her gap so solidly, and just courageously saying, “Hey, I think we can do better. I know we can do better. We don’t have to suffer like this.”
And my words, maybe, not hers, but really beautifully opening up spaces to say, “What if we look at this differently.” She’s been doing this for decades. But her recent book, Four Gifts of the Highly Sensitive, is a phenomenal work that really ties in some deeply rooted, scientific evidence into the stuff that we all know is going on. Changing the fabric of reality at some super foundational levels with the help of science.
But that’s not all she’s doing, as with all of our creators. She’s already light years ahead of that. And so, we’re going to be talking today about when science catches up, proving what we all know, that reality is based on our perceptions and we have control over it and we can create it, and we’re pretty magical and our existence can be pretty miraculous if we choose to play in those spaces. And so, joining me today is Courtney Marchesani. I love this conversation about science and superpowers. I’m so lit up. But I love the female voice in these really hard science spaces. Sister, you keep going ahead. But, first of all, let’s have a yummy conversation between us. Welcome to the show.
Thank you so much. I’m so fired up about the conversation that’s going to unfold right now. But I want to acknowledge you so much for the work that you guys are doing on all of your fields and your fronts.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for providing spaces for people like me to raise our voices together. It’s incredible. I feel honored to be here today.
I just got chills. That is the dream. Those were the marching orders, is bring everyone into the same conversation and figure out how to work together. No small project, but it should be that easy. I love this exchange. Folks, these things matter. Find someone, have a conversation. Connect with your heart. It changes your life. It changes the lives around you. But, for right now, let’s let Courtney share her deep wisdom with you. First, starting off with a question of what are your superpowers and how are you using them for good?
Well, it started 20 years ago when I prevented a fire in an apartment complex in Seattle, Washington. That was the first major good. But it also set me on a path to understanding what happened. How was I to know in advance, well in advance, that there might be a fire in the building? That really transformed my thinking. I was working as a counselor at the time. And so, I knew that I had a deep empathic ability, but it was the intuitive part that really drove me to understand it.
I’m an intuitive empath. Those are my superpowers that are like my primary strengths, but I also have visionary abilities which have also saved lives multiple times. And so, it all depends on that convergence, really, of the harmonic, I think. That’s how I kind of describe it. A multi-sensory awareness and how it helps not only myself but other people, especially in lifesaving situations. I’ve seen it time and time again.
I love that you’re speaking to that. We are so incredibly adamant with our body of work in the science and superpower space that, one, you have to commit to using them for good. But, two, we start everybody with that intuition piece because, in our work, what we’ve discovered is that everybody accesses their intuition a little bit differently. But there are some main channels that we can kind of tap into that really illuminate for people who are frustrated, trying to figure out things like, “How do I use my intuition? How do I know how?” And they’ve tried to use techniques, but maybe those didn’t work for them.
But what I love about what you said was the willingness to acknowledge that, at least from our frameup, without that intuitive piece, everything else is just up for interpretation. And a lot of times it’s the small self that’s doing the interpreting. It’s the surface self. It’s the lower frequency aspects that are interpreting the data because most of us aren’t trained to go to our highest aspect, to go to our creator mind, or where we’re aligned with the divine in order to interpret the information that we’re getting through emotional energy, thought energy, psychic energy, and all of the stuff that you’re talking about. That’s our bag. We study superpowers. We know how to use them. We know how to define when people are predisposed to certain ones.
But that doesn’t even matter if we’re not willing to look at what we truly believe about ourselves, about the world, and about kind of why we’re here. And I know that sounds like, “What? What’s that got to do with intuition and empathy?” But recognize, folks, the intuition of what? What’s guiding intuition? Where’s that information coming from? And so, it’s easy to talk about these things, but what I love about your work is that you’re not satisfied on the surface. You’re not taking things at face value. You’re diving in. You’re peeling them apart. You’re going as deep into them as you can because, ultimately, I suspect, you know that nothing can stay in that if we’re going to actually mutate it and adapt it moving forward.
Well, I just want to acknowledge what you said about the mutating because that, to me, was fascinating. How I was able to, at first, just broke through my awareness of science. I mean, we’re just talking about running an errand on a Friday night and I heard a voice that said, “Don’t move the bed,” because it was a friend and we were moving her bed into her mom’s place. Those two were going to move in together, my two friends. And so, I initially heard a voice and I felt sick. And so, it was a very visceral feeling. And so, that’s usually how I describe it is sometimes it will be visceral. Sometimes it’ll be a thought form that comes through. Sometimes it’s tied together and you can track that. But when you don’t know, initially, what’s going on, it totally breaks through your awareness and it feels like it’s from out of nowhere.
That’s right.
And so, that part of it, I felt like I was paying mindful attention to the voice I heard and also the visceral response. And then, I just couldn’t let it go. You’re right.
Brilliant.
I dove deep and I dove so deep, and it was almost like turning it around and turning it over multiple ways, trying to figure out, very scientifically, like, “Why is this happening?” And I just never gave up. I couldn’t leave it. And I do want to mention something that came to mind when you were talking about intuition and the creator and the creative mind and where it comes from. That’s the part of it that I couldn’t let go of, as it seemed intelligent. Whatever it was I was tapping into felt like intelligence that was warning me.
That’s right.
I wondered, and I never stopped wondering about, “Well, where is that intelligence coming from?” And I think that intuition does lead us into all kinds of intelligent moments where it’s our own creation. You’re talking about leading us on the path. And so, that could be like my experience where you have an eye-opening experience that leads to expanded awareness. I think it also leads to the type of people that you meet in your life that you vibrate with, and then you find out you have different things in common or it’s a synergistic effect.
I also believe that intuition helps us and it teaches us how to heal. There’s a healing element to sensitivity that leads us to how to heal ourselves, maybe even being a healer to heal others, to help others heal. I think intuition guides all of that. And the part of it that people really want to know, whether they read the book or whether on their own journey is, “What is that intelligence? Is it me? Is it God?” It’s hard to avoid the existential questions about how it unfolds.
That’s right.
Because it does appear to guide us, in a way, that’s what intuition is.
Well, and why would we want to avoid those questions? You and I talked a little bit before the call and one of the kinds of inquiries that it feels like we’re both constantly being shown is, “Why?” If we know it feels good and we know that it creates miracles, we know it awakens us into worlds that we can’t even dream about. Why would we avoid that? And I remember, ever since totally committing every cell of my body to this walk and communion and harmony, I don’t really get to hear my thoughts until they bounce back at me anymore. And I was on an interview and I remember it came out of my mouth and my personal self, my human, still freaks out from time to time going, “Whoa. Abort, abort, abort.” There are enough witch burnings and crucifixion stories in the collective consciousness to cause me a little bit of panic when these things happen.
But the question that I was asked is like, “What are you here for?” And out of my mouth was, “I’m going to turn everything inside out.” Everything. I’m not here to explain something. I’m here to explain everything because it sounds incredibly egotistical from a particular frequency. But from the highest frequency, it’s just if you can explain something, you can explain everything because it’s the exact same energy force power at work and it’s much simpler than we like to make it out to be. But the complexity that’s been made, has to get re-imagined in order for us to truly be able to step into that vision. And what you’re expressing is, I think it’s really important to just state here and now. I know, folks, that a lot of you are studying awakenings or you’ve had an awakening, or you’re curious about it, or have I had my awakening? Will I have another one? What’s going to happen? Is an angel going to appear? Is a dragon going to appear? What’s going to happen to me?
But recognize, folks, as overly romanticized as that can be, that just starts the journey. It is the inception point that opens your perception up to the fact that it is a journey and there’s an embodiment integration component. There’s nothing magic pill about this. The pill just opens the doorway. And so, I love what we’re talking about here because a lot of times I think we can go into this space of like, “Oh my gosh, there’s so much to do.” And, “Oh my gosh, there’s so far to go.” And, “Oh my gosh, people aren’t ready.” And, “Oh, my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh.” And that’s okay, that’s part of the journey and the journey is the point, folks.
It’s not like the journey just gets us there. It truly is the experience. And so, make sure that you’re not in such a big hurry to get there that you’re not willing to be there as you are there. And there’s a sensory thing, just a yummy kind of just get in there, roll around in it. It may not be your ideal, but it is an aspect of you. It is something that’s in your midst. Be present to it, because every moment is the point.
We’re going to take a quick break here talking about science and superpowers. But before we do, Courtney, where can people go to find out more about you?
Inspired Potentials is my website. And I also want to mention, before we go to break, please make sure when we come back that we talk about that embodiment piece because I had something that I picked up.
Yes. I’m writing a note.
And I want to get to that when we come back. Okay.
I promise. We will hold ourselves accountable for that.
All right.
Beautiful.
Yay.
Folks, we’re going to cut to a break talking about science and superpowers. But before we do, make sure that if you haven’t checked out the path to unlock your superpowers, go to superpowerexperts.com. I know a lot of you are in that step one process. Stay with it. Listen to one episode each day that attunes you to this frequency. It attunes you to potentiality. It attunes you to everything that’s not this. It’s the reminder that we can come from love. We can connect and we can create together.
If you’ve been camping out there for a while, make sure you move on to step two and go into those IM series. Those are those videos that if you watch them each week and really commit to implementing those into your life, embodying those pieces, integrating them, then they’re going to attune you even further to prepare you for the programs where we’re going to help you actually step into this stuff. Of course, you don’t need us. You’re going to walk your path regardless, but we’re happy to support you and love you and maybe help you get some clarity along the way.
Check that out if that feels and resonates. Make sure you’re going and checking out Courtney’s stuff also, and stay with us, folks, because we’re going to come back. We’ll talk about the embodiment piece in When Science Catches Up after this break. Stay here.
