What is the science of faith? Why does having faith keep us grounded? In this episode of The Science of Superpowers, host Tonya Dawn Recla talks about having faith amidst the chaos. We all have different perspectives concerning the faith. It may be faith in our parents as young people, faith in the government, or faith in institutions that thread our whole existence. Faith serves as a solid foundation for people, most especially in this time of crisis. Tune in and listen to Tonya as she shares why having a poor faith foundation can crumble humanity down during a time of crisis.
Tonya Dawn Recla:
Hello, everyone. Thank you for joining us again here at The Science of Superpowers. I am so excited to have this conversation today around the science of faith. This is another one of our episodes about the experience of The Science of Superpowers book. I’m going to read a portion of it, of course, and talk about how that came into it, what my experience has been with it through the booking process, which again has become so much more than a book process, as well as the development of the embodiment in this in my own existence. And the concept of faith is one that is so incredibly near and dear to my heart because it wasn’t always. Like so many of you, it’s like, what is this concept? Is it religion? Is it spiritualism? Is it philosophy? Where does faith fit in? Is it really just kind of this naive Pollyannaish way of looking at the world, and ultimately, at some point, we all have to get real? What does it mean, and is it viable? What’s at the heart of that?
It ebbs and flows. Undeniably, as we go on these journeys of discovery, the concept of faith will change, because even if you’re in the process of being quite opposed to it, that is a relationship that you’re having with it. And undeniably, it threads itself through our entire existence, whether it’s faith in our parents as young people, faith in institutions, faith in the government, that it’s going to save us. I think that a lot of us can agree that the pandemic really served to show us where perhaps we were placing our faith in things that aren’t really worthy of it when it became very apparent that a number of our leaders had no clue what to do and we were all kind of left to fend for ourselves or to figure out where we were going to.
It was quite an interesting thing to observe as we watched people sort of freak out, sort of losing it when their foundations became very obviously fragile when the foundations that they thought were solid beneath them really revealed themselves to be a false sense of security. That’s disturbing for people unless they are seasoned in this reality-shifting game that a lot of us play. When you’re used to the world kind of redesigning itself in front of your face, not much surprises you. And so a lot of us found ourselves on that side of this pandemic, kind of scratching our heads because it was really the first time we had seen in the material plane the level of chaos that we could sense energetically. That was exactly what the occurrence was for those of us with eyes to see beyond what was apparent, was the fact that it was symbolically representing what so many of us witness, just because of the extrasensory receptors that we’ve honed to be able to sense energy in very different ways.
This chaos has been there. Now it just actualized. Because a lot of people won’t look at it, won’t tap into it until it’s made real. Many of us don’t require things to get made real in order to understand them and to play with them and sense them, to transmute them, to integrate them. It’s far more pleasant if you don’t wait until it’s been actualized and reverberates back at you. And so the faith concept in that game is looking at where you have been placing your faith in things that don’t deserve it, that really isn’t equipped to handle it, and that certainly was never designed to guide your entire way of beingness.
And when you’re honest about things, you can start to see where if you’re going to things like mass media, social media, even reports put out by institutions that have their own leanings as truth, then it becomes a problematic existence. Certainly, stay informed. Certainly gather data. But like we always taught from our corporate counterintelligence days, make sure that you’re triangulating that information. Make sure you’re verifying it. And in this game, you got to verify it based on your own resonance with truth, and many of you have no idea what that means. You have no mechanism of discovering truth for yourselves, which means that you have no choice but to put faith in people who claim to. That’s a really dangerous place to find yourselves, as many of you felt during the pandemic.
Well, it doesn’t have to be that way. You truly can find a place to place your faith that doesn’t create that level of chaos in the material reality. And certainly, if it does, your experience of it is far different than being swept up in the rapids with it. And so trust in the fact that there is an alternative. That’s step number one.
If you can’t even admit to yourself that you would love for that to be true, then you’re stoically and stagnantly trying to lay claim to a world that’s deteriorating under your feet. You can cling to your fear if you’d like, but it is crumbling under your feet, and I don’t think it takes much to see that the alternative is to say, “Okay, got it. I put my faith over there. It didn’t quite result in the things that I was hoping for, such as stability and security and abundance and happiness and all of these wonderful things.”
“Perhaps I might want to entertain where I place my faith. Where am I consuming things as truth without ever running them through any kind of filter that I’ve proven to myself actually is a filter for truth?” This does not take a pill and you’re free folks. You’re going to have to free yourselves, and that means you’ve got to go through this work, and it means being clear with yourself about your relationship with the word faith. Maybe you have another one that you like to exchange it for. I find that when people aren’t really interested in reconciling whatever their past is or their preconceived notions are with faith, that they tend to want to dance around it. I recommend running straight through things. It’s the easier path. It’s the path of least resistance. Despite the fact that appears to be the most challenging and fearful one, you find yourself on the other side much more rapidly when you just simply walk through things. This is, again, far easier to do when you’re in a relationship with the divine because you’re not walking alone.
These are all techniques that you have to learn, folks. It is ridiculous to think that you’re going to avoid this, and just look at the state of the world if you want to argue otherwise. Everything rooted in a foundation of stabilizing or building in the material is being challenged right now. They aren’t going to last. This isn’t soothsaying. It’s not future predicting. It’s just logic. You can see it unfolding. And so my recommendation is to get very clear with yourself about your concepts of faith, what your past has been with that, what your family history is with that, and where you sit with it currently, and then get real in your heart about where you would like to be with it.
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to put your faith in something that you knew worked 100 percent of the time, that you knew was in 100 percent support of you, you knew loved you beyond a shadow of a doubt, and you knew that conspired on your behalf in every waking moment. Get real with yourselves about that desire, because that is that light within you. That is the spirit indwelling within you. That is the aspect of the divine within you. That is God within you. That is saying, “Yes, that is what I want, but I’m really afraid to admit it because it sounds too good to be true, and I’m afraid of seeming foolish. Or maybe I’ve trusted in something like this before and it didn’t work, and I have wounds from that.”
Okay. So what? You have wounds. It means you did it and it hurt and you survived. You would survive again. Because I’m telling you, to shut yourself off from it for fear of it hurting again keeps you in prison to the exact reality that is being broken apart right now. There’s no way out but to just simply walk through it. So stay with us. I’m going to come back from the break and I’m going to read to you a portion in the book that talks about faith. So you can have this experience as transmission, similar to what I experienced in bringing it forward. Get support with this walk, folks. Make sure you’re coming into contact with, you’re communing with people who are on a similar walk. Otherwise, it’s so easy to get distracted.
