Today, I’m here with a very special guest, Cathy Lee Crosby. Without further ado, will you help me welcome our guest, Cathy Lee? Hi, Cathy Lee.
Hi, Neva. How are you?
Good, you?
I am awesome.
I just figured, should I call you Wonder Woman?
Then I have to call you Wonder Woman Jr. We have that in common. Not only that, we have our middle name is the same.
Neva Lee and Cathy Lee.
That’s correct. That’s the best name in the world.

I heard that you played Wonder Woman. You’re the original Wonder Woman.
I am the original Wonder Woman. I did the first movie. It has changed a lot. Are you excited about the one that’s coming out in June?
Yup, I’m going to see it.
Really, really looking forward to it. It’d be fun. I’m sure it’s changed a lot but how much fun.
Did you enjoy playing Wonder Woman?
I loved it. Being a girl, I did a lot of my own stunts. You’ve got to feel powerful. It was fun wearing the costume and having the bracelets and all those things. It was my first job. I did some modelling before that and I was a professional tennis player. For me, that was my first big job. That was really fun. I had no idea what the impact would be because now, of course, little kids are excitedly waiting for the new Wonder Woman movie. It’s pretty cool.
What was your favorite stunt to do?
There were two. One of them was, they’re chasing me and I have to do a flip up and grab on to this awning and flip up onto the awning. I had to practice a lot but I was able to do that. The other one was, they locked me into this room and it’s glass. You can see it. They filled it with cement. The cement is rising up and up and up, I have to kick my way out of the room in order to get out of there. That was really fun to do too.
That’s cool. What are your superpowers?
When I have the costume on, I have different superpowers. Superpowers come in three categories: your physical superpowers, your mental superpowers and your spiritual superpowers. For my physical superpowers, I’m strong and healthy. I’ve trained when I played tennis and everything competitively and toured all over the world. My body is used to taking risks and being able to do lots of physical things. That’s a good thing. Mentally, the power of focus is amazing. Kids have it naturally. You go out and play and you say, “I’ll be the cowboy. You’ll be the Indian.” They’re just totally 100% in that game. That’s the power of focus and to be in present time. That’s something that I have that I love. Mentally, I look at life from the positive. I look at life from what you can do. That helps us if we’re in that state of mind all the time, then we don’t have so many limits on what we think we can’t do. We don’t want to spend a lot of time in what we think we can’t do because we don’t know until we try.
Spiritually, being aware of and connected to the ultimate creative power, in my case, God. That gives you a special, special power and a special insight about life that is awesome, and realizing that we are the authors of our own life story. You are writing your life and you can write it any way you want it, just like a book. You can create it fun and exciting or not.
Did your parents give you tips and tricks on how to help you with your superpowers?
I don’t think they did that. I didn’t think they knew what they were doing. Of course they supported me playing tennis and they supported me by having lessons and things like that. There was a lot of that support. I just, as a kid, always had this search for improving and finding the answers to things. If someone said, “That’s orange.” I would always say, “Maybe it isn’t orange. Maybe it’s green.” You have that too. When kids do that, that’s a good thing. Don’t always accept the answer. Take a look and see for yourself and maybe you’ll find a different answer in which that makes it exciting.
Did you know about your superpowers when you were a kid?
I knew that I was different. I felt like I didn’t belong. This is weird but you don’t think of them as superpowers. You just think that’s natural. When I was a young kid, the sky was the limit. There was nothing I wouldn’t do. I would try everything. In that sense, I just thought it was fun. Having fun is the key to what makes kids so exciting to be around. They’re always having fun. They look at things and they’re like, “This is fun.” Remember when we met and remember we had a tea party. We always had tea parties. Remember when we had lunch underneath the table. Everybody else was sitting at the tables for lunch. I don’t know if you remember this. You and I got underneath the table. You wanted to eat the lunch underneath the table, so you and I got under the table and we ate lunch.
What are you working on now?
I just finished a movie. It’s a wonderful movie. It’s like Blind Side. It’s called Prayer Never Fails from the book. It’s a true story. It should be out next summer. I’m really excited about that. Then, you’re the first to know, but I started a new studio in Hollywood. It’s called CLC Studios. We do movies and television. We have a Broadway show. We’re going to have restaurants and a resort that we already own land in Saint Croix on. The whole purpose of the studio is to bring back integrity and to make it cooperative capitalism instead of competitive capitalism and through profit participation. If you do a movie and you get a little piece of the profits, you get that profit, you get to see it. We have a lot of principles about doing business; relationship first, business second, that kind of thing. We’re bringing that back. We’re having the best time. It’s awesome.
Actually, I’m working on something new too.
What are you doing?
I’m writing a book about CEO Space and being a young entrepreneur.
Are you kidding? Seriously? If you want, I’ll endorse it. I’d be happy to. If you need any help, I’ll be happy to help you. What I like about you from the minute I met you, and you were three, you just have this sense of play and sense of you can do it. It’s easy. You’re perfect for this show for that reason. You’re just this beautiful spirit, this beautiful little girl that just is a dynamo. The future is looking bright for that project. That’s for sure. All the kids out there, you’re a great role model for them to say, “You can do it, and go ahead, try it. See what you can do.” Our future is in the hands of young kids everywhere. I say, don’t waste time. See what’s out there. Always learn, never stop learning, always, always, and always because that keeps you curious and that gives you a sense of awe and wonder too. I can’t believe you look so grown up. It’s amazing.
Are you excited about your new movie?
Yeah. I hadn’t done a movie for quite some time. To get back in front of the camera is what I love. I love doing that. There are some really good acting in there. We have some Tony Award Nominees and some Oscar Nominees. We have just amazing talent in the movie. It’s really fun to get back in the game.
Is the movie done?
Yeah. The movie’s done. They’re going to edit it and get it ready to release it. It’s more of a spring-summer movie. They wouldn’t be able to get it finished editing and everything by this summer so it would have to be next summer. That usually happens because depending on the movie and what it’s about, then you pick the time you want it to release.
What is your favorite part of the movie?
I’m trying to not give away the movie. It was a very emotional scene. It was awesome. The guy who plays my son, this young kid, he and I have a scene together. I have not been in his life for 24 years since he was a little baby. It’s the first time they meet. She comes back in his life and they have to try to get back a relationship. That was really emotional. The other thing is a really funny thing. You’re going to laugh. We had a scene and we were going to do it by the side of the lake. The director decides when we go to the location, it was in Florida, he sees a bunch of cows and he said, “Let’s do it over by the cows.” I go over there. This one cow comes up to me and I’m petting this cow. The owners of the property said they’ve never seen that happen ever. I said, “Do you have any food for the cow?” They said, “Yeah, we can bring you some food.” They brought me this grain or whatever and the cow wouldn’t leave me alone. The director said, “Let’s do the scene with the cow. You’re feeding the cow. Explain to your son about feeding the cow.” It was completely adlib and it was so much fun. This cow was just eating away. I’m petting it and feeding it. It was really fun.
What did the owners of the cow say?
They said they’d never seen anything like that. That cow in particular doesn’t come up to people. The rest of the cows were about ten feet away. They wouldn’t come any closer. They were watching this cow going, “What is he doing?” It was funny.
It was like a swap. The cow went instead of hiding, he wanted to come.
He knew that I was safe and he could come and be with me and he would be safe. It was very cool.
Do you have any pets at home?
I just lost my two dogs almost at the same time. I’m going to get another dog but I’m not sure what yet. I love dogs.
You should get a toy schnauzer.
What kind of a dog is that? I don’t know that dog.
Basically miniature, miniature, miniature schnauzer.
A little dog?
Yeah.
Mine were big, they were Golden Retrievers. They’re very light colored, beautiful dogs. I love them so much. They’re crazy, crazy.
What I like about toy schnauzers is they don’t shed.
That’s the kind of dog I want because Golden Retrievers do shed. They shed everywhere. They shed all over. They shed twice a year and there are globs of hair because they have long hair. There are globs of hair.
Where do you live?
I live in Los Angeles. Where are you now?
I’m in my grandparent’s house in Cali. I’m doing it in their office.
Are they watching?
Nope. They’re in the living room with my sister.
You get to be the little star yourself. What do you want to do with this show? What are your plans for it?
I’m planning on inspiring kids to do businesses. That’s one of the things I’m trying to put out in the book.
It’s really funny because there are women that are getting up into the high ranks of doing business but there are not a lot of businesses that were started by women. I’m glad that girls are getting in the game too. That’s important. In fact, one of our partners on the studio is a woman. She was in the army for twenty years in espionage. She came out and she started the company all by herself. Now, she’s one of the largest technology security companies in the United States.
What is espionage?
Espionage is spies. You’re spying on other countries and people and things like that. She’s in that. That’s what she was in the army. Now, she’s a technology security, anti-hacking and things like that.
That’s actually what my parents did. They’re in espionage.
It’s awesome. Starting a business for a man or a woman or for a boy or a girl, it’s a big job but it can be so much fun. In fact, the thing that got me really started on doing the studio, I read this article in People Magazine, this kid, a boy, he was nine, he started a limousine service because he wanted to have kids have rides to and from school and the parents were sometimes late and they weren’t there. He started, got a limousine. I guess he rented it, I don’t know. He ended up a millionaire. He was nine. I’m like, “How does that happen?” You never know what you can do until you try it.
I’m starting my sixth business with the book.
The book and this show. What else?
Seven businesses.
What are the other businesses?
My first one I believe was bracelets. Then I did stick-on nails. They were super easy to put on. It was a really easy process. It was fun. You didn’t have to smell all the chemicals.
Did you sell them on the web? How did you do it?
I do not remember. I might have sold them at CEO Space. I started doing a business that I made poems and I drew pictures to our veterans. I’m currently doing that. Then I’ve also done Hot Clothes For Kids. I do fashion reviews, and one of the things I would say was “hot or not” or “Looking good is feeling good.”
You’re amazing. That’s so cute. Seven businesses and you’re only seven. You start one a year I guess.
I started when I was two.
What took you so long? You started when you were two. I met you when you were three. You were pretty amazing, I have to say. I went, “This kid is going far. She is a superstar for sure.”
Where can people go to find out more about you?
www.CathyLeeCrosby.com. We’re on the process of updating it. That will be fun. You can go to CLCEntertainmentStudios.com. You can find out just the very minimum of what we’re doing in the new studio. That should be really fun. When we have our first big opening, we will definitely do another interview. That will be fun. You have to come out. I can’t wait to see you. Maybe we’ll see each other at CEO Space. It’s in Florida now.
Will you say the ending with me?
Okay.
Remember kids, we all have superpowers and we can change the world. Bye, Cathy Lee. Thank you.
Big hug, big kiss. See you soon.
Thanks.
