Doing More – The Defender
Last week we took a look at the concept of wanting more from motherhood, wanting more for our children and wanting more for ourselves. In this week’s message, we’re peeling back the layers of the quintessential mom-thing of doing more. Through this motif we explore the archetype of mother as defender. This incorporates protector, nurturer, and the mama-bear symbolism that can flare up from time to time. By looking at the multifaceted of motherhood through these different archetypal lenses we can see how watering down the mother experience into a single encapsulated concept of motherhood is impossible.
