In this debut episode of Leave it to Neva, Neva Lee Recla is joined by mom, Tonya Dawn Recla. Neva and Tonya start the show with a bang by discussing what it is all about and how we can create the spaces for ourselves to change the world. The two talk about how age doesn’t have to be a limit when making a change and that no change is too small. Hello, everybody. Welcome. I can’t even say welcome back yet. Welcome to the Leave It to Neva show with me, Neva Lee Recla.
I am so excited about this episode. It’s the first episode ever on my new podcast that has been in the making for it feels like a really long time now. And it’s been shaping, and I’ve been able to go through the process of just making it my own. It’s been such a wonderful process and of course, I’ve had the wonderful support of my parents and everybody in our amazing community helping me get it launched and get it ready, get it made. And one of the big supporters along my journey.
And you might be wondering, “Who is this person? Why is she so important?” Well, if you didn’t already know, my mom is the founder of Super Power Experts and, of course, she gave birth to me. She’s pretty dang awesome if I do say so myself. She was a spy so technically, I’m a spy too by blood. That’s how that works. She’s pretty awesome. And mom, you’ve helped me so much along my journey, especially in the business world and in life. And especially with this podcast, it’s been awesome. You’ve been helping me along the way to get it launched and write the show description and come up with the images and it’s been really fun. Mom, welcome to the show.
Tonya Dawn Recla:
Well, thank you. It’s quite a pleasure to be here. And I daresay that you’ve got me pretty well trained. So a lot of that coolness, I think I give you credit for.
Neva Lee Recla:
Thank you. So we’re going to jump right in. We’re going to ask you a big question. So Mom, what are your superpowers and how do you use them to change the world?
Tonya Dawn Recla:
I love this question. I’ve been able to answer it in many different ways. And now my latest passion is exercising this superpower of love. And while I have a lot of superpowers and I believe we all have all of them. Right now, that’s the one I’m choosing to exercise most. And I’m currently on a mission to exercise it all through social media. I don’t know what all that looks like, but as you all know, you and your dad have encouraged me to use social media as just an outreach for loving on people, which is sort of how I’m made and what I love doing. That’s how I’m doing it and that’s why I’m doing it.
Neva Lee Recla:
I love that. And for those of you who don’t know, I’m the administrative assistant here in the Superpower Network and of my mom. And one of my roles is monitoring her social media. Don’t tell anyone I’m not 13 yet, but one day in her bio you will see, “Account monitored by 13-year-old.”
Tonya Dawn Recla:
Well, you yourself are monitored. So it’s kind of a workaround. So I think we’re safe.
Neva Lee Recla:

I love that. It’s weird to say, but yes, I am on social media now. My name has always been but as you know, I haven’t always been.
