Mindset mastery helps you achieve your full potential by changing your attitude and perspective. A lot of people underestimate the effects mindset mastery has on whether you will succeed or fail in life. In this episode of Incorporating SuperPowers, host Justin Recla is joined by Jenny Harkleroad. Jenny is a #1 best-selling author, speaker and subconscious mind change expert. With the power of her mind, she overcame her past of chronic pain, bad relationships, addictions, and unhappiness. Listen in as Justin and Jenny talk about how the subconscious mind controls our behaviors and how the mind can allow you to overcome anything, even in accomplishing your goals of more money, more time, more freedom.

Everybody, Justin Recla here, and this is another episode of Incorporating SuperPowers. And today, I got to tell you, folks, the conversation we’re going to have today is literally going to blow your mind.

My guest today is Jenny and I met at CEO Space earlier this year. And she has got an amazing story. What we’re going to be talking about today is Mindset Mastery for Entrepreneurs. We were talking before the show about how entrepreneurs like to go out, and find a new coach and a new guru, and a new coach and a new guru, and then that becomes the pattern behavior, because it’s addictive, because it gives us a temporary fix, but we’re really not addressing the underlying issues.

And what Jenny’s going to talk to you about today is her amazing story of how she unlocked her superpowers, and how she’s using those for good, and helping people lock their mindset by getting them to the things that you can’t control, and I’m sure she’ll reprogram this. Jenny, welcome to the show today.

Hey thanks, Justin. I’m super excited to be here. And I love talking about the power of the mind, and not only the conscious mind, but the subconscious mind, which really controls our happiness, our health, our wealth, our success, everything about our lives. And when we figure out how to tap into this power, the world opens up.

And so, I’m super excited to talk about it today, and I’ll share one of my favorite quotes. Albert Einstein says, “You can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it.” So how do you change your mind and solve whatever problem you’re having right now?

Well, I’m going to address that today, and show you exactly how to do it. So I can’t wait for that.

Well, yeah, and you’ve got such an amazing story. It’s one of those, literally, folks, this is straight out of a comic book, and she didn’t get bitten by a radioactive spider.

No, she fell off a cliff, and broke her back, and that unlocked everything, what’s created the door, and the possibilities for that, for her to unlock her superpowers. Jenny, what, what happened? Can you share that experience of, how you got from hiking, broken back… And I know there’s a lot more to it, because you’re also a mom, and you’ve got young children.

So this wasn’t just you, a single person out there, doing this. You had other stressors in your life right? Yet you broke your back, and now you’re teaching people how to program, reprogram their minds. How did you get here?

Yeah, absolutely. I love to tell this story, and thank goodness this happened to me, because it helped me discover my superpower. Otherwise, I probably still would have been totally oblivious, stupid. So I’m thankful for it for that.

Actually I had a client the other day say, I’m so sorry you had to go through this, but I’m so thankful you did, because now you can help me and everybody else. So I am thankful for it.

Yes.

But what was going on with me is, as a top producing realtor in San Diego, I had a team of five buyer’s agents and two full-time secretaries, and we were producing digits in the millions, and the houses and the cars and the travel. But of course, like you mentioned, my greatest claim to fame are my four amazing kids, who actually are not that young. Twenty-two, 19, 16 and 13 are their current ages.

And we were living this life. And what I was actually doing was putting on a happy face, because I was actually struggling with chronic pain for most of my entire life. And I didn’t know why, but I did know that I packed about 30 Ibuprofen in my lunch bag every day, because that’s what I needed to physically get through the day. And I didn’t know why, and no one could solve that problem.

So I would just look in the mirror, and I would say, I’m happy, and I’m healthy, and I’m terrific, and I’m a millionaire. And let’s go conquer the world again today, and bring my Ibuprofen. Well-

But that was before the back injury, right?

That was before the back injury, yeah. So I, August 10, 2013, this is the day everything changed. I’m standing on a mountain ledge with my husband. We had camped overnight with friends and family.

We were hiking, and we got to this ledge, and my husband said, If I was young and in shape, I’d jump off of here. Well, my pride got the better of me, and I thought, I’m young and in shape, I’ll show him! I jumped. And when I landed I just heard this crunch, and I immediately started screaming and couldn’t move.

And a life flight came and got me off the side of the mountain, and they told me in the hospital, Your back is broken. The good news is you’re not paralyzed. Amazing, great news, but you-

But, yeah-

You can’t go, really.

You still got a broken back.

Yeah. So, Go home and bed rest. So, like I told you, I was super crazy busy with my real estate business, and my kids, and I was also really involved in my church and in my community. I had so much going on.

And really, I was just doing all this stuff to suppress all the internal pain I had going on, that the Ibuprofen was also helping with. So I’m laying in bed, deleting everything off my calendar, sobbing, trying to figure my life out. And I wish I could tell you, I figured it out so fast and I discovered my superpower, and fixed myself? No.

A year later, I still couldn’t sit, I still couldn’t drive, miserable pain. Now taking painkillers like hydrocodone, not Ibuprofen.

Yeah.

And just feeling miserable, but still looking in the mirror, saying, I’m happy and I’m healthy and I’m terrific. And telling everybody else, taking real estate calls from my bed, pretending I’m in the office, just putting on a show. And a year after that, same exact place, can’t sit, can’t drive, miserable pain. I’m-

Superpowers haven’t been activated yet. You’re still-

I’m just, no superpowers, beside myself. How do I get better? So I convinced surgeons to do surgery on me. They didn’t think I needed it, but I knew I needed it. So they put in rods and screws, and a synthetic disc, sent me home, sewed up, back brace Walker.

Seven months later, I still can’t sit, still can’t drive, feeling miserable. And it’s time for some superpowers to show up. And thankfully, they did, because I’m telling you, I was going to lose it. And the doctor said I was hopeless, and I knew I wasn’t hopeless. I knew, somehow, I’d get out of this.

And I discovered the power of my subconscious mind. You see, I really didn’t know much about my subconscious. I knew it grew my hair, and blinked my eyes, and digested my food, and my lungs and heart, and all that. But I didn’t realize it had anything to do with how I felt, how I thought, how I acted, how I reacted.

Who does?

I didn’t know that!

Who knows this, right?

Yeah.

I mean, I think about the last time… I mean, before we were doing the work that we’re doing, and understanding, the mind and the level that we do. I mean, up until I think I was thirty something, 35 years old, I think it was like, The conscious mind controls your heart, your lungs, you don’t know where you are.

Nobody stops to think about that, but it’s there, and it’s extremely powerful. I love the fact that that’s how you activated your superpowers, and we’re at that level.

Yeah, and you think about it, things happen in your life when you notice it, but you don’t really figure it out. You drive across town, you get home, and you’re like, Golly, I don’t even remember driving here. How’d I get here, right? Your subconscious drove you there. It’s a pattern. I have it.

You tell yourself, I’m going to do something, and if it happens automatically, it’s because you have a subconscious program for it. Riding a bike, right? Haven’t done it forever? Here’s an example. I performed the flute last night, at an event. I haven’t practiced in years.

I didn’t even know I was going to be doing it. They’re like, “Hey, can you play?” Sure. I grab a songbook, grab my flute, walk up on stage, haven’t warmed up, hadn’t played for years. It’s a subconscious program. I did it so many times, I can just do it. It’s in my subconscious.

Well, this pain had become a subconscious habit, pattern, program for me. I’ve been suffering with it my entire life. And breaking my back was just one more pain pattern going on in my head. And so, I literally had to learn how to stop the pain pattern. And you know what? It only took me six hours,

Six hours, folks.

Six hours!

So this is after three years-

Three years.

Of positive pain, after breaking your back-

Surgery!

This is after three, surgery, you got a steel rod in your back, and in six hours, with a flip of a switch in your brain-

No more pain.

It stopped.

No more pain. Not only did it stop, I was doing handstands. I mean, I could move. I was free, and it blew me away. I thought, What? How come no doctors, surgeons, hospital, anybody, told me about this? I didn’t know I could do this!

And so then I thought, Oh, I have a superpower. What else in my life do I want to change? Well, immediately, I realized I was addicted to painkillers. Before the pain stopped, I honestly did not know I was addicted. I was taking them because I was in pain! I truly was in pain.

Well, the pain stopped, and I was going for the pills, and I went, Uh-oh, here’s something else to reprogram. So I reprogrammed it. And before I reprogrammed it, I thought, Well, I could just stop. Oh no.

I was seriously addicted. I’ve never been addicted to anything in my life before. It was crazy. It was scary. I thought I would lie to my medical doctor and tell her, I’m still in pain, to get these. This is a problem.

Right, before we go to break, where can people go find you, and learn more about what you do?

Yeah, absolutely. So the easiest way is, I’ve got some great freebies for you guys today, and you can get them via text to 55888.
