Welcome back to Incorporating Superpowers. Today we’re gonna be talking about how to be an instant authority in your industry. And I just happen to have an expert and a good friend of mine on the show today to talk about this Colleen Biggs. Colleen welcome to the show today.
Colleen Biggs:
Thank you, Justin. It’s such an honor and a pleasure to be here with you.
Justin Recla:
This is good stuff that is the folks’ Colleen we met at? Well, now a couple of times that at different networking events. More importantly, we’re recently here at venture cafe and we just hit it off, there was just an instant click between Tonya and Colleen, and between us it just it was just like, no, when you find your tribe when you find your people you just know. And Colleen is one of those people. For those of you who don’t know, Colleen Biggs is a leader, she’s a coach, she’s a speaker, and she’s helped launch over 340 businesses. She’s an international speaker, and she has got what she has also authored five, number-one international best-selling books. And she has a community that supports female entrepreneurs in getting them not just to strive but to thrive in their businesses. So Colleen, tell me a little bit about what are you up to in the world today. What is your community about and what message do you have for our listeners?
Colleen Biggs:
Yeah, I’m glad that you asked that Justin. And I first just want to say I think the reason why you, Tonya, and I connected is because like attracts like. And that is. So it’s the main way that you become an authority in your industry, because you just be you, right, you get out there and you just become yourself. And no matter what anyone else thinks you just share your heart and you’re transparent, and you show up as you everywhere you go. And, you know, that is the number one way that I build all my businesses, it’s the number one way that I’ve helped other people, industry, industry leaders build their communities, is you’ve got to tell everybody about you, and the community, the LEAP community that I built in 2019 when I retired from corporate America was because I know that we need to tell every single person about us as entrepreneurs, we can’t sit in the corner with a bag over her head or be keyboard warriors. It doesn’t work that way. Yeah, we got to get out there and let people see us and feel our heart and feel, you know, our passion. And right away. That was the one thing I noticed about you, Tonya, when you came up and said hi was just your demeanor and your passion. And I probably maybe wouldn’t have picked up on that, you know, over technology. And so that is why it’s so important for us to get out and meet people in this, this community is about bringing women together, because research will show this is proven, so I’m not making it up.Â
The research will show that if you isolate yourself, alone in a business or in any venture in life, even if you’re in corporate America and you isolate yourself alone, and you will actually live less you won’t you know live nearly as long you will have heart issues, you’ll have physical ailments, and depression and many other physical issues that will happen in your body. And so you’re happier, you’re more connected, you’re more fulfilled, you’re more joyful, you live longer, you’re more successful, and have a positive mindset when you’re around similar people that have same similar, you know, ideas in mind. So that’s why I built this business community for women so we can share ideas, we can come together, we have a mastermind that we’re doing today that we do once a month for a couple of hours a month where we come in and help each other with struggles that we might have in our businesses. But you know, the big thing for me, Justin is just really showcasing the members of this community out there for them to just shine. That’s the goal, right not be afraid to let someone else’s light shine, but stand there and just be present to how bright their light is shining and, and supporting that in supporting them.
Justin Recla:
I couldn’t agree more. I mean, that’s the whole concept behind the superpower network and why we have other guests on the show why there are people in similar industries as us because ultimately if we’re going to we’re going to have an impact. We can’t do it by ourselves. We have to uplift others, we have to show what others are doing as well. And then when there’s synergy and there’s collaboration present, taking action, right in coming together to work together to how do we help one another because that’s what I’ve learned is that I don’t have all the answers, but I know that there are people out there who do and when we and come together and uplift one another to support the audience’s that we serve. Magic absolutely happens. I absolutely 100% agree with that Colleen I gotta ask. Well, take a pause.
