When I was younger, my dream was to be a singer, an actor, an actress, or a dancer. But, you know, life always takes you in your path. Being a teacher for me was the experience of my life. I loved it. I enjoyed it. I had so much fun. Now I realize that I was a really, really good teacher. I was kind of impatient. Well, if I could just go back in time, I will be more patient and I will be more aware of my being impatient. But it is what it is. I’m mentioning the impatience, being so impatient, because that is something that I’ve been healing and working on myself now as an entrepreneur. I remember that one day I was thinking, well, here in the United States, retirement is a big, big thing. Because of the kind of visa that I had, I didn’t have the opportunity to save money or to be in any 401k or whatever is the name of those programs to save money for your retirement.

I was dating my now-husband, and he always asked me, “So what are you going to do when you’re retired?” That was something that wasn’t in my mind. But, that spring break in 2013, I started thinking about it. I was sitting in front of my computer thinking, “What I would like to do when I retire? How am I going to make more money, in order for me to have more money when I retire?” That was like the big thing that I could feel. It was really important for my husband and hearing there in this culture that it was brand new for me, remember, I’m from Colombia in South America. That’s when this journey started because I started being certified as a life coach, a spiritual coach with no knowing what was at stake for me?

I started doing that certification and I said, “Oh, this is good because I can keep on teaching. I can help people.” I began to put all of these dreams onto paper, in a plan, in a structure for when I turned 65. That it’s the age of retiring here in the United States. Life is just funny. I ended up being certified as an Akashic Record Practitioner with Soul Realignment. I already was certified as a Reiki Master back in Columbia. I started taking some other certifications with the idea to have my business. That was back when I was 45, maybe 43. It was 20 more years. I had 20 more years to figure this entrepreneurship thing out. Suddenly I lost my job as an educational consultant because there were all of these changes with the government here in the United States. So, the districts didn’t know if they were going to have money to pay for the Spanish program.

I was teaching teachers how to teach Spanish as a second language in a more effective way. When I ended up with no job, I was making a lot of money, like twice more than I was making as a teacher, I thought I didn’t want to be a teacher anymore. I think that I’m done. I really want to keep on enjoying my time. I want to make a lot of money. I’m going to start my business. I want you to understand this. My deep inner desire was service. That’s why I choose to be a teacher. But I think that the desire for making as much money as I was making as an educational consultant was the big model behind all of this. Yes, I wanted to serve. I wanted to help people to connect to their divinity, to their light. I wanted people to learn how to heal.
