Managing Pieces and Parts
One of the most difficult concepts for people to grasp at this stage of development is the idea that what happens inside of us informs what we experience outside of us. In the curriculum we discuss this at length. For this exercise we focus on the internal game of managing pieces and parts.
As you go through this exercise, remember that the point of it is anything but frivolous. While we incorporate creative concepts to illustrate the techniques, they lead into highly developed internal structures that support you in your evolution. Always run the experience through the filters of reflecting on how what you observe about your internal make-up relates to what you witness in the projection.
The Exercise
Perform this exercise every day for one month. If you don’t feel complete after that period of time, extend it out. This is a practice you can incorporate for the rest of your existence if you prefer. For now, let’s start with one month.
The Scenario
You are the CEO of a major corporation named YOU, Inc. Inside of yourself is an entire board of advisors ready to support you in your mission of walking the world as the bigness and uniqueness of you, you as the highest aspect possible. However, each advisor has her/his own angle, fears/stories, purpose and vantage point. Much like an actual board consisting of attorneys, accountants, strategists, marketers, etc. Your job as the CEO is to receive the information provided from each one and assess it according to your observer’s perspective.
Note: This takes practice. Do not expect perfection the first time you do it.
The Steps
- Each morning when you wake up, take 3 deep breaths.
- Once you feel consciously aware and attuned to yourself, turn your awareness inside.
- When you first start out, simply ask who has feedback for you. And then wait. The first few days, you may not hear anything. However, trust the process and have faith. If you listen, you’ll start to be able to perceive information. Try not to have any expectations about how you will hear. For some of us, we simply have a sense of awareness. For others, we see visions and pictures. For others, we receive clear audible words.
- As you start to get insight, see if you can isolate different characters or personas on your board. Name them if it helps. Give them a look or archetype you can use to identify each one. These are advanced concepts, so don’t get frustrated if it doesn’t work immediately.
- Beginner tip: If you don’t receive information that day, just check in with yourself and see how “you” feel. Recognize that, in every moment, you have many contradictory impressions happening internally. See if you can sense different ones.
- Lastly, have fun with this. You can’t fully harness your superpowers if you’re not willing to play a little. Suspend your disbelief and believe this is possible. Then…watch what happens.
