Are you that type of person who has constantly been struggling with finding your voice? Do you find it hard to take yourself out of the shadows? In A Glimpse Inside’s series on the Side Gig Explosion, you met Kathy, Beth, and Sharon, three women who are making a living by doing what they love and finding a ton of meaning in it. In this episode, host Wendy Perrotti explores something else all three women have in common. They’ve truly found their voice. If you’re ready to find yours, don’t miss this episode.

Welcome. This is A Glimpse Inside. I’m Wendy Perrotti. This past series has been about side gigs. About doing work that you love. About finding meaning and purpose every single day. And it’s actually been one of my favorite series so far, and that really surprised me. I’m sure you’ve realized by now that I really dig the deep work.

I love that moment when people realize they already have everything that they need to live the life that they want. I love that moment when some rock star human, who seems larger than life to me, gets the same lump in their throat. And you can hear it, when they get that lump in their throat, the same way that I do when somebody reflects back to me something in myself that I’d missed. And I remember again that we’re all the same.

I really love that moment when someone who’s been playing small their whole life, hiding behind old stories of who they’re supposed to be, of what’s possible for them, when they can see themselves through my eyes and they get it. Initially, they may only stay there for a second. For just a moment, do they get the enormity of who they are, but I know then that they’ll get there, that they’ve opened a door that they won’t ever close.

And it dawned on me that that’s why I loved talking to Cathy Moffatt about her new company, the one that she’s running with her son, Moonshots, and why I loved coaching Beth about building her business. It’s a business on top of a business, actually.

Why I loved talking to Sharon Rowe, how she blew my mind with all this stuff that she’s done with eco bags. It dawned on me that this series has been about finding your voice, not about building businesses. It’s been about finding your voice. And that is something I’m insanely passionate about because until you find yours, until you own it, you’re living a half life.

And as you know, if you’re a regular listener, I have been there myself. In fact, that’s why I do the work that I do today. This is my voice. Literally and figuratively, it’s podcast, right? But this work that I do is me owning my voice. It’s me leaning into what I’m passionate about. It’s me exposing the best of myself, and playing with it in real time, and getting it right and getting it wrong. But it’s me living fully, not a half life anymore. And when we come back from this quick break that we’re going to take, and again, super duper quick, I have some stories and some tools to help you find or lean in to your voice.

But before we take that break, I just want to reiterate, we learn so much from stories. It’s why on every fifth episode of A Glimpse Inside, I use stories as an opportunity to talk about what the topic before was about, to really illustrate what we can learn. Because every single story has a chance to impact someone’s life. And if you have one, if there’s something that you can share with us, something that you think we can relate to, because we can.

We’re all the same underneath. Something that will make us think or make us laugh, maybe even make us cry, a chance to see ourselves, to see that we’re not alone. Please reach out and tell me your story. You can connect with me at wendyperrotti.com or aglimpseinside.superpowerexperts.com. We’ll be back in a flash. I’ll see you on the other side.
