Hello, everyone. This is Tonya Dawn Recla, your Super Power Expert. And I’m excited with us today a really fun woman who we’re going to have a great conversation. Allison Sutter is all about accelerating your mojo. In fact, she wrote the book on it, Accelerate Your Mojo: Seven Simple Steps to Ignite Intuition, Shake Off Fear and Unleash the Real You.

And I’m excited to have her on the show today because we’re going to talk about the power of intuition. As you all know, that’s one of the foundational super powers. In fact, it’s the foundational super power here prior to really being able to hone and use and harness any of the other super powers, whether they be predisposed super powers or unique super powers, in a really and effective manner.

Without that intuitive piece then you throw powers about, you know, kind of willy-nilly. And it’s hard to have any consistency. So I’m excited to have Allison on the show to talk with us about the importance of intuition. So in addition to a number of other things, she does digital courses. She works one-on-one. There’s 77 countries, she works with people. She lives in Chicago. Really excited to have this talk with her today. So please join me in welcoming Allison to the show. Welcome, Allison.

Thank you. Excited to be here.

Very cool, very cool. We are excited to have you. So we’re going to jump right in and ask, what are your super powers?

Blending intuition into daily life

Blending intuition into daily life.

Well, my super power is blending this thing we call spirituality or spiritualness, intuitive sense, with physical understanding, like situation and circumstances that we encounter on a daily basis, using this non-physical aspect of us to better understand this physical aspect. So that’s literally what I think I’ve been born to do. Didn’t discover it until later. However, I really feel like it’s my super power.

Beautiful. And I think there’s such a big need for that with … You know, it’s great to talk about esoteric concepts and theory. But a lot of people just want to, “Okay, but great. How do I do it? What use is it when I’m dealing with getting up in the morning and getting the kids ready for school and helping with homework and fixing dinner?” whatever the case may be, whatever their life looks like.

You know, I talk to a lot of folks who, everything’s compartmentalized. So it’s like the spiritual conversation’s over here. It’s no different than the go to church on Sunday, and then you live the rest of your life during the week. But then you’re reminded again on Sunday that there’s this other thing. So how did you … You know, you said you didn’t discover it till later in life. How did you move into that space where you realized that you’re going to work with people doing that?

Well, I was actually working with being coached by another coach, who was extremely into goals and goal setting and a lot of the tangibleness of everyday stuff. And I realized this isn’t working for me because first, setting big goals didn’t work for me. It caused me to be anxious and I’m like, “I can’t do this.” And so I realized that that wasn’t for me.

And that blended with an experience I had when I was 20, which my mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. And it was six weeks from diagnosis to death. It was very quick. But in that situation, we were by her side while she drew her last breath. And I saw, not with my physical eye, but sort of with my intuitive body, knew that there was an energy that we had called Mom that was no longer physical.

And then, of course, I left it. I was only 20. I didn’t do much with it. But I remembered it. It was a very dynamic experience for me. So I had this experience of knowing that what people were doing in the typical realm of trying to produce such change in their life, the way it’s been taught to us, wasn’t working for me. I’m like, “All right. Why don’t I take that, which I know isn’t working, I’ll blend it with this experience that I had. I’ll take what I know about education,” because my career has been an education for the most part.” I was an elementary school teacher.

So I knew that there was some practical way of learning this stuff that wasn’t so far flung and esoteric that you’re like, “What? I don’t get that.” So I just started looking into reading lots of different books. I read books from Jane Roberts. It’s called The Seth Series. And I would look at teachers that went really esoteric and teachers that went really practical on like … And I took my own knowing, and I raised my own vibration.

And I took myself as my own expert, put this all in a pot, and I stirred it together. And I’m like, “Well, what happens with that?” And out of that came the Accelerate Your Mojo book, which has seven steps to it. And what it tries to get us to do is see how, even sitting here talking to you, there’s a non-physical aspect of you. There’s a non-physical aspect of me, even though we’re very physical. And those two things are in relationship to each other.

And so we can use it to make our own physical experience more enjoyable, not so frustrating, because the physical experience can be very frustrating when things aren’t going the way you think they’re supposed to go. So that’s how I ended up doing what I’m doing.

That’s awesome. What you’re describing is exactly what we talk about in terms of discovering your unique super powers. And it really is all of that. People come to us all the time, like, “I want to know my super powers.” It’s like, great, we can easily help you identify predisposed super powers. But those are abilities. What you’re talking about is really that melding together of all of it, like the abilities, the experience, the knowledge. Like all of the into this really cool thing that is you and your work here. And so I love how you described it in such a natural kind of … You know, I think retrospect is always easier to see the path. And sometimes we can view that path as we’re in the midst of it.

But I love the description that you just provided. So thank you for that. It really gives testament to … You know, there’s no magic pill. The way that you came about that was doing all of that and being a witness to it, right?

I mean, you could easily have had that experience with your mom and been immersed in it and not been a witness to it or not called on that later and said, “Oh, that was a thing. That was something that occurred there that was different.” How do you reconcile your ability to do that where others may not have the ability to do that?

Understanding the benefit of experiential

Understanding the benefit of experiential.

Well, there’s a couple of different points that I have made my own truth over the last five years since I’ve been going through this process. I think, before I started this, I was enmeshed in the idea that there was a pinnacle point I was supposed to get to. It felt like it was always off in the distance. And if I get here, then I’ll be happy, and then I’ll have all my stuff, and then I’ll get accolades and I’ll be great versus a perspective of understanding the benefit of experiential, which is really everything we’re doing,

I was just talking to a woman yesterday. And she made the comment that she constantly has the sensation of like, “Okay, when am I going to get onto the train track of my life? When am I going to get there?” which is one perspective, which causes angst with a lot of people because it’s constantly out of reach versus understanding that this is my life. The train didn’t leave me at the station. This is my life and there’s benefit in it.

And knowing that when I come to the end, like my mom did, and pass on, what I’m really going to be understanding is it’s in the daily living of it that was the real learning. There’s never a pinnacle point where we’re going to get to. But we tend to have this appreciation for this point of like, “If I get this goal or I get this or I get that or I have this much money, then I’ll be happy.”

And there’s a constant unhappiness in just being who you are and doing what you’re doing versus knowing that having this conversation with you today, for example, is me on my path. Am I on a stage getting accolades from 5,000 people? No. But to me the value of it is the same. Do you know what I’m saying? There is no one is better than the other. It’s equal, which makes me feel good and know I’m on the path.

Yeah, absolutely. I think that that’s a really great point that you bring up. I want to expand on that. But before we do, I want to take a quick break. Where can people go to find out more about you?

My website has all the information, which is www.living360coaching.com.

Awesome. Well, we’re talking today with Allison Sutter. And we’re talking about the power of intuition. So stick with us, because when we come back we’re going to have a dialogue around some of the stuff Allison just brought up around that feeling of needing to get there and really see if we can unfold that. We’ll be right back.
